Mary Jeanne Anderson
May 1, 1927 - January 16, 2015

Mary Jeanne Anderson, of Deerbrook, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Homme Home of Wittenberg. She was 87 years old. She was born on May 1, 1927 in Milwaukee, a daughter of Anthony and Gladys (Krusing) Schmelter. She married Ronald Anderson on May 26, 1948 at Holy Apostle's Catholic Church in New Berlin. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2014

Mrs. Anderson attended Holy Angels Academy and Marquette University where she studied Latin. She had a thirst for knowledge being fluent in Latin, Spanish and French.

She volunteered at church and with hospice both in the Milwaukee and Antigo areas.

She enjoyed reading and writing, collecting antiques, and traveling. She loved animals and had a special place in her heart for her dog.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Sandra) Anderson of St. Paul, MN and Jedd (Pamela) Anderson of West Bend; two daughters, Mary Ann (James) Szollar of Brookfield and Sara (Peter) Smith of Wauwatosa; seven grandchildren, Nicolas Baranek, Bridget (Trevor)Boulter, Jonathan Szollar, Thomas (Ashley) Szollar, Maren (Thomas) Steed, Taylor Anderson and Katherine Anderson; and a great-grandson, William Boulter.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Spiess.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.

"This memory came to mind when I was asked to alter a wedding dress recently: Long ago when I was considering making my own wedding dress, Mrs. Anderson said, "It's like making a regular dress, only there is more of it". She gave me the courage to sew my dress, and I have been sewing ever since... even costumes for the High School where I live. "
