In loving memory of

John L. Parks
March 26, 1927 - October 19, 2010

John L. Parks, 83, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, in Bellevue, WA on October 19, 2010. He was born on March 26, 1927 in Snoqualmie, WA, the son of the late Gladys Mae and John L. Parks Sr. He was the oldest of four siblings: Kenneth, Thomas, and Kathleen. He was married to Donna Mae DeBruyne.

John graduated from Mt. Si High School. From there he joined the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii to serve in WWII. After coming home he trained as a fire fighter and continued to work in Renton for 35+ years. Along with that, he challenged himself by becoming a journeyman electrician and continued until retirement.

John was an avid fisherman and hunter, but especially enjoyed steelhead fishing with his brother and best friend, Ken. In the early 60's, along with his family, John came to study the Bible and learn of God's wonderful hope for the future, living forever on a paradise earth. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses shortly thereafter. In his last few years he associated with the Longview, WA congregation and did his best helping others to come to know the Bible's truths. Up until his death he spoke and hoped for a much better life, a perfect life to come.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas E. Parks of Phoenix, AZ; his son, Glenn R. (Wendy) Parks of Redmond, WA; his two daughters, Sharon Parks of Federal Way, WA, and Sandra (Daroll) Parks Mitchell of Kalispell, MT; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Mae Parks; his infant daughter Sheryl Parks; and his brother Kenneth Parks.
