Charlotte Macartney Tucker
March 16, 1912 - May 30, 2011

Charlotte died May 30, 2011 at 99, simply of old age. She was born at home March 16, 1912 in Cheney Washington. She was the daughter of Annie Bell and Robert Henry Macartney. She grew up in Cheney, received a BA in Psychology from Oberlin College in Oberlin Ohio and an MA from Prince School of Retailing at Simmons College in Boston Mass. She worked two years at department stores in Cleveland, Boston, and New York City, before returning to the West Coast in 1936, taking a job at Frederick & Nelson Department Store in Seattle. While there, a co-worker introduced Charlotte to her brother, William F Tucker, and they were married in Seattle July 15, 1940. They moved to Bellevue WA in 1948, where they raised three children, Robert M of Bellevue, William F Jr of Ocean Shores WA, and Lynn Sinnema of Carnation WA. She is survived by her children, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane on July 14 at 2:00.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
