Lois Lee Harris, age 82, was born on July 27, 1929 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Frank Melrose and Amy Hill. Lois passed away on August 23, 2011 in Tacoma, Washington. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Cynthia Harris, sons Fred, James and Charles Harris, brother Clifford A. Melrose and many other loving family members and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Harris to whom she was married for 47 years.
She worked for many years for the State of Washington as an administrative assistant. She also worked as a Head Start teacher, and found immense joy in helping children.
She was known by all for her unconditional acceptance of all people, her funny stories and her absolute intolerance of mistreatment of people. So many will remember and miss her.
