Carmine Smeraldo was born on July 14, 1942 in Naples, Italy, to Carmela and Michael Smeraldo. He passed away at home in Medina, Washington. He is survived by his wife Maria, sons Philip and CJ, daughter Paula Daniel, and grandchildren Tyler and Nicole of San Diego; sisters Pina Vairo, of Naples, Italy, and Anna Paniccia of Niagara Falls, Ontario; and brother Tulio Smeraldo, of Milan, Italy. He will be dearly missed.

I was a customer since 1989. And soon after my first visit to Il Terrazzo Carmine, I became his friend. I used to bring him cigars. Loved the illumination on his face. I wish I had told Carmine, just once, how much I liked him."

Well, I just had to have the real thing, so I travelled to Seattle to dine at II Terrasso Carmine. I will never forget the impression of good will and friendship Carmine conveyed to me. Thank Carmine and you will be forever missed my friend."
