Nancy Ann Robinson was born in Sweetsburg-Cowansville, Quebec on June 20th, 1952 to George Kenneth Roston and Mary Walker Nelson Thorburn. She fell asleep in death on August 20th at 3:10 PM.
Nancy came to the States with her family when she was three years old. She raised her family and spent most of her life in southern California. The last three and a half months she spent at the home of friends and with her son, Daniel, in Bothell, Washington. The final week she was cared for at a beautiful hospice facility. Her daughters and several friends had also offered to take her into their homes as Nancy was loved by so many.
Nancy kept her pretty smile and amazing positive attitude until she fell into a sleep that lasted six days. Her goal in going to the hospice center was to get some good rest and that she did. All four of her children, Scott Robinson (age 40, Eugene, OR), Rhonda Desmond (age 34 -husband Jim, Wilmington, NC), Amber Dela Cruz (age 30 -husband Paolo, Honolulu, HI) & Daniel Robinson (age 33, Bothell, WA) were at her side. Her brother, David Roston & wife, Peggy (Sequim, WA), their daughter, Heather and grandchildren, were also with her. David spent many nights with her so others could rest. Nancy's sister, Kathy Roston (Montreal, ON) was unable to be present but sent her love to Nancy as did her step-mother Beverly Roston (North Hills, CA) her mother May Roston (Seaside, CA), and countless other friends.
Everywhere Nancy went she made friends and kept in touch. Anyone who knew her felt like they were her special friend because they all were very special to her. She valued her relationships with those who kept caring through both the good and bad times and maintained great strength of character through it all.
Nancy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses as a teenager and getting to know Jehovah God and having a share in worshipping him was the most precious thing in her life next to her family. She prayed to Jehovah constantly and He made her life happy and secure despite the sickness she endured. Her faith in prayer is a testimony to how well it works as every need was met at just the right time. She spent many hours praying about the welfare of her beautiful children and friends.
The family wants to thank all who spent your time, resources, love and concern in Nancy's behalf.

"To Scott, Rhonda, Daniel, Amber, Mary, David and Kathy, and all of Nancy's dear friends, Each of you had an impact on Nancy's life. She showed very special qualities to all who knew her. Like a beautiful diamond with many facets. As one of the sisters here said "With some persons, you just say 'My life is better because I knew that person' and that's how I feel about Nancy. I am a better person because I knew her." Nancy had great faith in her Father, Jehovah, and it was well-founded. It is nothing short of amazing, and cannot be coincidental that every time she had a great pressing need, upon praying fervently, the perfect answer would come. He is indeed "The Hearer of Prayer."
To Scott, Rhonda, Daniel and Amber, I want to say that we were always reminded of how much she loved you. She always talked about you and worried about you. I'm sure she told you she loved you many times, but want you to know that you were in her thoughts and prayers daily, and in her conversation daily. And, just as importantly, she knew you loved her too. And just as she always wanted the very best for you, and for you to be as happy as you possibly can, we do too. We have thought and prayed for you often, and we will continue to do so. If there is ever anything we can do, please let us know. If you ever need to talk, Toni and I are always available. With warm love, Ben, Toni and Lea Rae Plaxco"

"To Amber, Daniel, Rhonda and Scott, my heart goes out to you and at the same time I am comforted
by knowing that you are all surrounded by those who love and support you.
To Nancy's spiritual family of friends, as Nancy's sister, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support that you gave so freely to Nancy. She was indeed special and deservedly loved by many.
Thes words remind me so much of Nancy: "She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule when she gives instructions. Her children stand and bless her." Prov. 31: 25-28 "

"I will remember Nancy with such fondness of heart...she is a very special person with great spiritual depth and devotion to her Father, Jehovah God, his Son, Christ Jesus and her children, all of whom she loved dearly. We spent many hours on the phone together as she spoke tender words for each of you. And though I only knew Nancy briefly, her warmth, gentleness and passion for life is what she shared so liberally. I felt so privileged each time we spoke with one another and just want you, her family, to know she always had you close in mind and heart and always will.

"Its with heavy hearts we send this to Nancys family. She was a precious, sweet, kind friend. Always a positive word and beautiful smile. Though suffering much she put others pain before hers, always reaching out to help and comfort others. Her helping hand was far reaching. We knew of her great love for jour God Jehovah and her trust in him sustained her with joy. Yes The joy of Jehovah was her stronghold. She maintained her loyalty to the end and held out for the glorious promise of heavenly hope. She will live in the mind and hearts of all who knew her as a loyal servant of Jehovah, a gentle woman and as a dear, dear friend. She will be missed! May the family find comfort in her hope and that she was greatly loved."
