Susan Evelyn Dunn was many things to many people.
A daughter, a sister, a mother and a grandmother; a teacher, an artist and an amazing cook; a beloved friend and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Susan left this world with loved ones by her side on Monday, August 19, in Duvall, WA, at the age of 75.
Susan was born to Wilbur and Evelyn (Miller) Grant on December 16, 1937 in Seattle, Wa. She spent her early years growing up on a Vashon Island farm with her brother, Jeff, and formed life-long friendships with her peers at the local schools. It is also thought that she developed her fondness to chocolate during this time, a problem that has been passed down to two generations (and counting).
Susan married in October 1, 1955 to Ralph Gonzalez of Puerto Rico and in March 24, 1961 to Harry M. Dunn of Fife, Wa. From these two unions came three children: Kathleen Bell of Kent, WA, Patrick Kelly Dunn of Monroe, WA and Kendall Dunn of Des Moines, WA. She had six grandchildren, all of whom she spoiled with her famous homemade pies, cinnamon roll ups and, of course, chocolate.
During her career, Susan worked to make a difference in the lives of her students. As she taught English to non-native speakers, she enjoyed the opportunity to practice her Spanish as well.
