September 23, 2013 Barbara Jean Joyce passed into the arms of Jesus and her daughter Melissa.
Born February 8, 1948 in Beatrice Nebraska. Barbara was the daughter of Marvin Joyce and Fern Doane Joyce. She grew up in Sonoma and attended Sonoma Valley schools. She married Donald "Corky" Dodd in 1966. They moved to Seattle Washington where they raised their four children.
Barbara was a giving person. Always there for others, she moved to Sonoma to care for her father until his death in 2001. Barbara enjoyed being with her family, and reading. She loved music especially Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed western movies and she loved to laugh.
Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa in 2005, and her father Marvin Joyce in 2001. Barbara is survived by her mother Fern Joyce of Sonoma, her children Lorena Dodd (Aberdeen, WA), George Dodd (Jodi), Richard Dodd (Chehalis, WA), Sisters Julia Joyce and Georgia Alva of Sonoma, Marjorie Van Derslice (Robert) of Lincoln, NE. Sister-in-Law Marlene Dodd Leingang (Bill) of Seattle, WA, former spouse Donald Dodd (Chehalis, WA) and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Washington, Nebraska, Oregon and California.
