WILLIAM C EARDLEY, JR

Passed away November 9, 2013 in Seattle, Washington age 90.

Born April 21, 1923. Bill was a graduate of Coe ES, Queen Anne HS 1941, and St Mary's College in CA (Navy Pre-Flight School) finishing 2nd among a class of 232. He briefly attended the UW prior to serving in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator, being honorably discharged in 1951 as a LTJG. In 1947 he met Phyllis Potter and they wed in 1948. He worked briefly at Boeing as an estimator/expediter, and then went into the family business - Eardley Fisheries Co, a wholesale seafood business. In 1958 he served as the President of the NW Fisheries Association. In the 1970s, the company business was sold to NEFCO and he served as VP prior to retiring in 1981. In retirement he kept spry by continuing his jogging with his gym buddies (and enjoying their Friday lunches), helping friends by managing their financial portfolios as well as volunteering for tax preparation for seniors. He helped organize his high school reunions for many years. He was an avid Husky fan and never missed a home game in 65 years. He was a remarkable friend to all and the best dad and grandfather. Bill was one of a kind and he will be missed. Survived by his daughters, Kristi Bolster (Mark), Susie Ploeger (Bill), and his grandsons, Ryan Walker (Claire) and Jeffrey Walker. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis P Eardley (2007) and his sister Margaret Blue Chase (2005).
