In loving memory of

Joseph "Jay" Tripp
December 22, 1934 - January 24, 2014

Joseph (Jay) Wesley Tripp died January 24th at the age of 79 in Bellevue, Washington. Jay was born Dec 22, 1934 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Helene and Foster Tripp. He attended Blackwell High School and Oklahoma Sate University. Jay played football and ran track in high school, and his love of sports led him to be a strong supporter of several Seattle sports teams. In 1956, Jay married his high school sweetheart, Betty Lee Armor and began a career that took him all over the world. He loved his work and made many good friends in his travels. A high point was when Jay and his family moved to Milan, Italy where he lived and worked, for 10 years, before moving to the Seattle area in 1986. His fondness for food and wine was nurtured during his stay in Italy. Jay loved spending time with his family and friends, especially over a good meal. He loved cooking and the joy it gave others, always making a favorite meal for the people he loved. We remember him for his kindness and gentle spirit. He was always thinking of others ahead of himself. He is survived by his loving wife Betty; his son Jeff Tripp and cat Mario of Redmond, WA, his daughter Julie Tripp, daughter-in-law Julie Overbaugh and granddog Rico of Seattle, WA, his brother Dale Tripp and sister-in-law Luanne of Nardin, OK and his favorite aunt, Pauline Irwin of Fort Worth, TX. A celebration of Jay's life will be held later in 2014. Jay will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
