Lillie Marlene Bates, loving wife, mother, and nana is now forever with the angels. Her brave, courageous fight ended early afternoon, February 25, 2014 at 12:09pm. Although our hearts are saddened by her passing, and we at times feel such loss and emptiness without her physical presence by our side, we find great comfort knowing that she touched so many lives with her unconditional love, kindness, compassion and generosity. Her spirit will continue on, residing deep in our souls. She will continue to guide us through life's journey, providing us strength to get up when we stumble, to always be there for one another, and to love one another with everything in our being.
Lillie Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Michael Bates, daughter Sharon Kopta (Bill), granddaughter Nicole (Zack), grandson Steven (Kirsten), son Scott Reed (Jemi Ann), granddaughter Miranda, daughter Jennifer Norgaard (Jon), and granddaughter Sunny. Lillie Marlene is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters: Harry Richards, Beverly Feltner, Carole Keckler, Gordon Richards, Sharon Richards, Mike Richards, John Richards and Tom Richards. Preceded in death by her parents Harry and Gladys Richards, and brothers Franklyn, Don, Jim and Marvin Richards.
