At age 71, Lake Stevens, WA, passed away peacefully with her husband, children and daughter-in-law by her side. Sue was born September 20, 1942 in Claiborne County, TN. She attended Claiborne County High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the women's basketball program. She was the second child of five, including four loving brothers. She eventually relocated with her husband of nearly 55 years, to Lake Stevens, WA where she was an active participant in both her sons' educations, extra-curricular activities, and various civic organizations within the Lake Stevens community.

Sue was a kind soul always known for her undying devotion and love for her family. She was highly regarded as a family member and friend who approached life with honesty, compassion for others, and gracefulness that could only be considered unique. She was instantly loved and respected by everyone fortunate enough to have crossed her path in life.

Sue will be forever loved and missed by all. She is survived by her loving husband Ray D. Ratliff of Lake Stevens, WA; son Gregory S. Ratliff and wife Stephanie Ratliff of Lake Stevens, WA; son Jeffrey L. Ratliff of Bellingham, WA; brothers Glenn Helton of Sedro Woolley, WA, Lonnie Helton of Valley City, OH, and George Helton of Maryville, TN; sisters-in-law Nora Helton, Diane Helton, Helen Conatser, Karen Helton, Janice Gunter, Brenda Ratliff, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mollie Helton; brother Willard Helton; and brothers-in-law Harold Ratliff and Glenn Conatser.
