Sarah Esther Rebecca (Tom) Waters - March 10, 1953 - July 25, 2014
Sarah Waters was born in Denver, Colorado to Thomas E. Waters and Mary Lou (Gross) Waters on March 10th, 1953. She grew up in Golden and Boulder Colorado and moved to Spokane Washington in 1964. She was the second of nine children.
Sarah had a lifelong love of music, played the guitar and sang. When she was a teenager, she and her brother Greg were part of a garage band a la the Beetles. She attended Shadle Park High School.
She was employed by Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) in Seattle. She lived for 12 years in an Oxford house where she served in many organizational roles.
Sarah loved Seattle. She was proud to be an employee of MID and was dedicated to the mission of the Oxford recovery program. She was a source of encouragement to many, setting a steadfast example of Christian love. Her relationship to Jesus Christ was the most compelling fact of her life. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her older brother Greg Waters. She was survived by her father, Thomas E. Waters, her mother, Mary Lou McDonough, her brothers, Bill (Penny) Waters, Jon Waters, Brendan (Desiree) Brozovsky, and her sisters, Cynthia (Jay) Person, Sara Brozovsky, Suzanna Doan, Rachel Scholten, and sister-in-Law, Kathy Waters, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
