In loving memory of

Kenneth Turner
March 19, 1963 - April 29, 2015

Ken Turner "crossed the bridge" on Wednesday, April 29 at 52 years young. God sent him his draft notice that he had to leave with a 3rd lymphoma diagnosis. He was born March 19, '63 in Auburn, WA. Known as "Kenny" growing up, his family moved to Machias in '68 where he spent his childhood and most of his adult life, including his death. He grew up to be the greatest man we know; the core strength of our world. He always had a great attitude, glass ¾-full kind of guy, not just ½,he was better than that. Family and friends came first, and he lived to help everyone he met. He knew God's gift in him was fixing cars -- always there for anyone's needs, and always great company. He started learning to twist wrenches with his dad and brothers in the backyard. Using those skills, he worked 1st at King Shell in Snohomish under Bud MacIntosh who mentored him in the automobile and fuel business to further his incredible work ethics and small town business heart. He then worked as an Automotive Technician at Bickford Motors of Snohomish for 20 years and loved working for a home town family business. He took pride in his work, gave respect to others, and had an incredible knack of hearing mechanical trouble and diagnosing issues. He had a reputation with his nickname of "Grumpy", but it was just a front. We will miss his infectious grin that always seemed to hold a secret and his gift of being a truly great listener with uncanny intuition that was always right. He had a huge heart that we all were privileged to witness.....Doubtful to ever find better. He loved the outdoors and all that it entailed. The last 3 years were full of medical distractions, but he continued to bring humor and laughter to everyone. He never complained about 30 years of physical pain and the emotional scars from the loss of his beautiful daughter, Tatianna, 25 years ago. He was a hardworking, humble, and proud ol' country boy who will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tatianna Anne; mother, Betty; step-mother, Claudia;, and brother, Dan. He is survived by his wife, Belinda; daughter, Savannah Turner, sons Josh(Laura) and Justin(Tailor)Hampton; father, Les; mom"adopted" Barb(Denver); brothers Jeff(Lori) and children; Ron(Rhonda) and children. Best friend and "bloodbrothers", Kevin English and Keith MacKenzie. We greatly appreciate all the support our friends and the Bickfords have provided to our family during this time.
A Dog-tini party in celebration of Ken's life will be held on Saturday May 9th, at 1 p.m. at the Turner's home. If you can't bring your dog in "Tini" attire; send photos to belindacturner@comcast.net to be shared. Bring YOB, potluck, lawn chairs, and favorite stories to share. Outdoor plants for a memorial garden or donations to the family are appreciated...Enjoy the fun and help to celebrate a GREAT MAN.

Ron Turner (Brother) wrote on May 7, 2015:

"How do you measure a man's life? I was given the answer to this question over the last few weeks. The gift was given to me by my brother Kenny. We bring love into this world when we are born and I truly believe the only thing we take with us when we leave. Love is the only true measure, I saw it in his eyes, felt it in his arms and heard it in his voice. This gift was generously given by a man in the last days of his life. This man brought his family and friends together over the last couple weeks and gave us a gift. The gift of love and compassion and of hope. He gave us the opportunity to say goodbye and and taught me the true measure of a man. Kenny it's been a true honor to be your brother. I will miss you so very much, thank you for being my brother. I LOVE YOU BROTHER! "

"It has been a honor to have had you as our son-in-law and then as our son for all these years, I thank Betty everyday for sharing you. I will miss you everyday for the rest of my life but I am grateful that I will have savannah here with me to share memories! Like the time Denver and I came up to see you and vanna at your hunting place, and you knew I hated it when you shot any animal , but you and vanna played s trick on me and pretended to jump out of the car and shoot at s deer, so I honked the horn and yelled run Bambi run! I know you are with Tatianna, Marcy, Betty and Danny now and smiling! That makes me happy! I love you Ken, always have and always will! You will be missed!"
