Jim Herman, age 74, of Renton Washington, passed away very peacefully at his home on May 23rd, 2015.
He is survived by his daughter, Deone and his son, Doug and his four grandchildren, Tatum, Calvin, Austin and Ashtyn along with one great-grandchild, Jasiah as well as his daughter-in-law by heart, Kelly and son-in-law by heart, Karl. He will be missed by his family and all dear friends who loved him.
Jim was born and raised in Victorville, California. He graduated from Victor Valley High School in 1958 where he excelled in Basketball, Football and Track and Field. At the age of 19, he married his high-school sweetheart, Sharon. They moved from the Mohave Desert to Renton where together they raised their two kids up on 'Old Renton Hill'. Jim worked hard as a skilled carpenter, teaching his son and many other young men, the Carpentry trade. Jim and Sharon parted ways after 23 years but remained friends. Deone and her dad enjoyed spending many nights dancing the country two-step at the Riverside Bar in his younger years. One of his greatest joys in life was watching his son Doug play football over 4 years for the University of Oregon Ducks.
Jim was fortunate to meet and enjoy spending 5 great years with Elaine, a wonderful life partner. Together, they bought a home in Yakima, and lived very happy along with their best friend, their dog, 'The Taz'. Elaine, sadly passed on. Jim met another great lady named JoAnn. He and Jo enjoyed their life on a quiet 7 acre piece of land in Tacoma and were married for 12 years. Joann passed away in 2012. Jim moved back to Renton where he met a wonderful companion, named Sunni, whose vivacious spirit and loving friendship brought him much joy during the last couple years of his life.
Jim wanted to live a very simple life. His prize possession was his 1986 Burgundy Chevy Van that he could never seem to part with. He enjoyed his family, the outdoors, watching TV and sports. He was blessed to have a few very close friends and relatives who meant the world to him.
Go rest high on that mountain Dad, for your work here on earth is done...
Go to heaven a shouting, love for the Father and the Son...
We love you Dad!!
