Richard Allan Yates, age 75, passed away peacefully, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, on Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was born April 5, 1940 in Madison, WI to Alice & Allan Yates. Richard graduated from West High School in 1958 where he excelled at football, basketball and track.
Richard was a proud member of the Dane County Sherriff's office for many years. He also spent many years traveling around the United States in Advertising Sales. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
Richard is survived by his son Jeffrey (Brandi); his grandsons, Cole, Matthew & Adam Yates; his step son's David & Daniel; his sister Judy Hannifan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
