Charlotte Buchenthal
February 24, 1930 - June 7, 2015

Charlotte E. Buchenthal, of White Lake, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at her home. She was 85 years old. She was born on February 24, 1930 in White Lake, a daughter of the late Rodney and Mamie (Wills) Amburgy. She married Edward Buchenthal on April 27, 1974 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Langlade. He survives.

She graduated from White Lake High School in 1948 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1953.

Mrs. Buchenthal lived in California for 25 years. She worked for the Department of Social Services in Milwaukee for 16 years retiring in 1995. Mrs. Buchenthal and her husband owned "Ed's Place" a bar in White Lake.

She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in White Lake and volunteered for the White Lake Historical Society.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Deborah (Perrie) DeHart of White Lake; a son, William (Vicky) MacLure Jr. of Reno, NV; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Quist of Glendale, CA, Sandra (Lee) Balicki of Avondale, AZ and Mary Lou (Frank) Lovell of Tempe, AZ; a brother, John (Delores) Amburgy of Coleman; and her first husband, William MacLure of White Lake. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Letha Landry, Bertha Gill, Mildred Toshner and Ruth Castleman; brothers, Tom Amburgy and Donald Amburgy; and two sisters in infancy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Hope Presbyterian Church, White Lake with Rev. George Buchanan officiating. Burial will take place in Langlade Cemetery where White Lake veterans will conduct Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
