FIDERER, WALTER A., 85, of the Crestwood Village section of Whiting, Manchester Township passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Garfield, he also lived many years in Clifton before retiring to Manchester Township 15 years ago. He was a maintenance Supervisor for many years in Hawthorne, caring for an apartment complex. He was also an auxiliary Police Officer in Clifton for many years, and a Security Patrol Volunteer.
Walter was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Whiting. He was an avid bowler, loved to play shuffleboard and bocce ball. Most of all, he was a devoted family man, loved spending time with his loving wife and children and grandchildren.
Mr. Fiderer was predeceased by his parents Adam and Clara Fiderer, and a son in law Richard W. Miller. Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret Besada Fiderer; three daughters, Sharon Miller, Donna Harrington and her husband Walter, and Dawn McDonald and her husband John; 8 grandchildren, Kristy McKeown, Richard V. Miller, Valerie Miller, Amanda McDonald, Christopher McDonald, Katherine Harrington, Chayna O'Brien and Chandra O'Brien.
Visitation will be on Saturday, 2 - 5 PM at HORIZON FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A blessing will be offered in the funeral home at 4:30 PM. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Walter's memory to American Heart Association.
