Selmer "Zeb" Toresdahl age 85, of Ames, Iowa died July 23, 2015. A Celebration of life memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 29, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care. Inurnment will be at Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Zeb was born November 15, 1929 in Ames, the son of Osmund and Sarah Toresdahl. He graduated from Ames High School in 1948. He married Mary Toll on July 29, 1948 the couple later divorced in 1970. They raised their children west of Kelley. Zeb farmed west of Kelley also working with Firestone and later John Deere and Lowes retiring in 2004. He enjoyed farming, mowing and rototilling for friends and family. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley.
Zeb is survived by his children, Monte (Deana) Toresdahl of Ames; Sherry (Mike) Dallam of Telluride, CO; Dru (Constance) Toresdahl of Ames; Faith (Richie) Maes of Thornton, CO; and Quentin (Bobbie) Toresdahl of Ames; a sister Elizabeth Seimers of Marshalltown; two brothers, Joe Toresdahl of SD; and Tork Toresdahl of WA; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
Zeb was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Darcel at the age of 4, and longtime companion Audrey Ness.
