Bernice E. Ellsworth
May 18, 1928 - July 26, 2015

Bernice E. Ellsworth, age 87, of the Eastern Star Home in Boone formerly of Ames passed away Sunday, July 26. A gathering of friends and family will be 4:00- 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30 with a funeral service to follow at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way in Ames.

Bernice was born May 18, 1928 in Collins, Iowa the daughter of Everett and Ethel Ball. She graduated from Collins High School and later from Cosmetology School in Cedar Rapids. She married Donald Ellsworth on July 20, 1962 in Ames Iowa. She owned and operated Bernice's Beauty Salon out of her home for many years before retiring in 1989. She enjoyed her family and long walks.

Bernice is survived by her children, Leah (Larry) Sorenson of Ames, Peggy Bryant of Elizabethtown, KY; Perry (Balinda) Ellsworth of Ames, Jeff (Angi) Ellsworth of Boone, eight grandchildren, Mark, Mike, and Matt Sorenson of Ames, Mallory Norton of Elizabethtown, KY; Shelbey and Devin Ellsworth of Ames and Dani and Emma Ellsworth of Boone, and great grandchildren, and a brother Norman Ball of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Ellsworth, one sister, and two brothers.
