In loving memory of

Bruce Alan Marquardt
December 1, 1955 - September 9, 2015

Bruce was a multi talented man. He taught each and every one of us something... He taught us that family watches out for one another.
He taught us that Bruce does not begin with an F and end with an r, and if we spelled our names that way it would be our last day of kindergarten too.

He taught us how to turn a wrench, he taught us to respect the women in our lives, He taught us to LOVE
our mothers and cherish the time we spend with our family.

His life was filled with music and song. He brought beauty to a garage heavy with smoke and life to empty space.

Dad was immensely proud of his mom. He would tell me how he never knew how she put up with all of those boys and didn't go crazy.

I don't know how to stop talking about dad, Brother Bruce or Uncle Bruce, my boy as I have heard Grandma say. I do want to say that he loved my mom with such a intense passion that he wrote songs about her for 40 years.

That's the love that he taught us...

Thank you Bruce for this final verse.

Good news happy ending I guess I will stay
I'm too young to be lonely too old to run away
Now the rest of my life I'll spend with you
and each day together will bring something new
I'll give you my heart if you want me to

God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not meant to be
So He put His arms around you

And whispered come with me
With tearful eyes we watched
And saw as you passed away

Although we loved you deeply
We could not make you stay
Your golden heart stopped beating

Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best
