A funeral Mass for Jill Fehr, 30, of Whittemore, will be held 10:30 AM Thursday at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday at St. Cecelia Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family, an educational fund has been established for her son, Jameson, at Farmers State Bank.
Jill Elizabeth Fehr was born March 2, 1985, in Forest City, daughter of Pat and Jamie (Vaske) Johnson. She attended St. John's Catholic and Seton Grade School graduating from Bishop Garrigan High School in 2003. She then attended Iowa Lakes Community College School of Nursing and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Nursing.
Jill was married to Anthony Fehr on January 19, 2008, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Anthony and their two year old son, Jameson, were the complete focus of Jill's life. She had a great sense of care for people especially her family and friends, and the people she helped as a nurse.
Jill had a passion for shopping. She enjoyed baths and from an early age she enjoyed reading and listening to books on tape. She also enjoyed vacationing and being surrounded by her family and friends.
Jill developed Type I diabetes at age 11. Every day she wanted to live a "normal" life and she struggled with this daily. She developed many complications and getting through most days without pain was a challenge, but always went on with an infectious smile. Jill died Saturday evening, October 10, 2015, at the age of 30.
She is survived by Anthony and Jameson of Whittemore; her parents, Jamie and Kent Elbert of Whittemore and Pat Johnson of Titonka; two sisters, Heather Kelly and her husband Josh of Waterloo and their children, Owen and Mazie, and Sydney Elbert of Whittemore; her maternal grandparents, James and Marlene Vaske of Bancroft, and her paternal grandparents, Joan and Gary Smidt of Titonka. She is also survived by her parents-in-law, Jeff and Beth Fehr of Whittemore; two brothers-in-law, Chris Fehr and his wife Becca of Minneapolis, MN and their children Cullan, Sylvia, and Greta, and Dustin Fehr of Whittemore and his children Tristan and Emalin; her grandfather, Art Elbert of Whittemore; her grandparents-in-law, Larry and Carol Fehr of West Bend and Joyce and Art Hix of Fenton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James Johnson and Roger Anderson, and grandmother Clarice Elbert.

Words cannot express the sadness that I have for you. I didn't know Jill but she sounds a lot like her mother who is undoubtedly a caring person with so much to share with others through friendship and through her work I will be remembering all of you in my prayers. May you find kindness to warm you, sympathy to comfort you, and cherished memories to bring peace to your heart."
