WILLIAM BIXBY
NICHOLS, Iowa - William "Bill" Hugh Bixby, 88, of Nichols, died on Friday, November 13, 2015, at his home.

There will be no service or visitation. Burial will take place in Nichols Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Rosie Bixby. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Bill was born on January 30, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Lewis Glen and Helen Ravencraft Bixby. He married Rosie Irene Doak on October 25, 1949, in Muscatine.

Bill was a stone cutter for Iowa Memorial Granite Company. He left there and started Bixby Monument Company.

He was a member of the Nichols Christian Church and was a US Navy veteran.

He was a trapper during trapping season and enjoyed fishing. He loved the outdoors.

Those left to honor his memory include wife, Rosie of Nichols; two sons, William Bixby of Nichols and Mark Bixby and wife Karen of Nichols; one daughter, Penny Hansen and husband Sonny, of New Boston, Illinois; six grandchildren, Lea Bixby, Dixon Bixby, Bridgette Wedekind, Kristeen Nesbitt, Stace Freeze, and Anna Bixby; great granddaughters, Kaelyn Wedekind, Delanie Freeze, Kennedy Freeze, Madison Bixby; great grandsons, Dayton Bixby, Jared Wedekind,. Dallas Wakeland, Seth Wakeland, Mason Bixby; two great great granddaughters; one step great granddaughter, Chelsea; one step great grandson, Brodie; two brothers, Lewis Bixby and wife Wilma of Columbus Junction, and Robert Bixby and wife Sue of Fruitland, Idaho; two sisters, Patricia Stroud and husband Joe of Hiram, Georgia, and Leona Edgington of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leo Bixby.
