Selma E. Cheringal
January 24, 1929 - December 12, 2015

SELMA E. CHERINGAL, 86, of Manchester Township, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born in Union City, NJ she also lived many years in Howell, before retiring to Manchester Township several years ago. She was a self employed dog breeder, and was a member of the American Kennel Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary (nee: Kilmartin) Lavin; her husband, Albert Cheringal; her son, Gary; and her grandson Vincent D'Agostino. Surviving are her daughters, Gwen Struz, and Leslie Mills and her husband Jeff; Grandchildren: Pat D'Agostino, Gloria Ruffino, Eric Mills, Jennifer Mills, and Jayne Randall; 10 great-grandchildren, Desiree Ruffino, Kara Ruffino, Louis Ruffino, Joshua Nilsen, Vincent D'Agostino, Kaydence D'Agostino, Kendall D'Agostino, Matthew Randall, Andrew Popan and Joseph Popan; two brothers, Warren and Donald Lavin, and a sister Joan Mathias.

Mrs. Cheringal will be buried with her husband at the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11AM. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Selma's memory to Disabled American Veterans, 1810 Lanes Mill Road, Brick, NJ 08724.

"My most cherished memories of my Grandmother are our shopping trips which we would dine out every time. The Holiday Season with Gramma expecially in her Howell NJ home are also very cherished.. gifts from Gram were from the heart. That was Home, with Gram & Gramp and that is without a doubt where the heart is!"
