Donna Harrod, 77, passed away on December 16, 2015 at the Gretna Community Living Center in Gretna, Nebraska. Funeral services will be at
7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
Memorials: A fund has been established in Donna's name.
Donna Faye Harrod, the youngest of three daughters of Lucille Winifred (Lewis) and Louis Sylvester Wiley, was born on August 1, 1938 in Springview, Nebraska. She graduated from high school and worked much of her life as a waitress, a meter maid for the city of Council Bluffs, in nursing homes, as well as several other jobs until her retirement.
Donna was united in marriage to Richard Duane "Dick" Harrod on June 13, 1968. They made their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa and were blessed with three sons, Michael, Robert, and Raymond. In 1983, they moved to Pacific Junction, Iowa, near the Pony Creek area.
Donna and Dick were married 37 years when Dick passed away on February 10, 2006.
Donna enjoyed fishing and also loved going to the casino. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and great grandmother. Donna loved spending time Dick and with her children and grandchildren, all who were her pride and joy.
Donna passed away on December 16, 2015 at the Gretna Community Living Center in Gretna, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years, 4 months, and 15 days. In addition to her beloved husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister Glenellen Nagunst.
Donna is survived by her sons, Michael Harrod of Glenwood and his daughter Christina of Rapid City, SD, Robert Harrod and his children, Zakry and Shyann of Spencer, IA, and Raymond Harrod, his wife Heidi, and their son Ethan of Louisville, NE; sister Peggy Larson of Nebraska; and other relatives and friends.
