Blaine Allen Lundeen, 88, of St. Charles died Monday morning April 16, 2012 at Golden Living Center in St. Charles.
Blaine was born July 9, 1923 in Isanti County to Walter and Fern (Barnes) Lundeen. At the age of three his mother died and he moved to the Dover area to be raised by his grandmother, Hattie Barnes. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1941. Blaine married Elvira Lehnertz, the couple had six children and were later divorced. He later married Priscilla Naylor and they later divorced. Blaine was a Dover area farmer until the later 1970's when he moved to Wisconsin to continue farming. He liked to dabble in politics, poetry and song writing. Blaine also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and going to auctions and flea markets. In 2005 he moved back to the St. Charles to live closer to family. In St. Charles he resided at St. Charles Assisted Living until recently entering Golden Living Center.
Survivors include his six children; Lance (Marilyn) Lundeen of Plainview, Larry (Linda) Lundeen of Centralia, WA, Gary (Jo) Lundeen of Utica, Monte Lundeen of San Jose, CA, Rory (Pat) Lundeen of Webster, MN and a daughter Gala (Jim) Afseth of St. Charles. He was a grandfather to eight and a great-grandfather to 16. Blaine was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a grandson.
A Celebration of Blaine's Life will be 7PM Friday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles with Tim Hoff serving as Funeral Celebrant. Friends may call from 5PM through time the services. A reception will be held. Burial of Blaine's cremated body will be on Saturday in the Cambridge, MN Lutheran Cemetery. He showed this "city girl" how the dog would herd the sheep and what it was like to be on the farm. We made jam from the wild grapes and had delicious country meals.
