Monty Lynn Gellersen was born August 8, 1978 in La Crosse, WI to Lynn Gellersen and Lilah Beach. Monty attended Winona High School and previously worked for the State Highway Department and currently for Ideal Crane Rental. His true love was his wife Kate, his son Brody, the work he did on his grandfather's farm raising beef cattle, and his John Deere equipment. Monty married Kate G. Gudmundson on September 26, 2009 at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church. Monty was a member of Cedar Valley Lutheran church and a past member of the Nodine Fire Department.
Monty is survived by his wife Kate Gellersen, and his son Brody Valynn, Winona, MN his father Lynn Gellersen, Nodine, MN, his mother Lilah Beach, Minnesota City, MN, a grandmother, Lois Gellersen, Winona, MN, three brothers, Gerald Linander, Altura, MN, Odell (Valarie) Linander, Winona, MN, and Lance (Lara) Linander, Colorado Springs, CO; a sister Marcey (Larry) Corey, Trempealeau, WI; his father and mother-in-law, Val and Mary Gudmundson, Rushford, MN; his god sons, Calvin Corey and Logan Rivers, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his dog "Emma Lou". Monty was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Gellersen, and maternal grandparents, Bud and Mary Beach, and his Uncle, Paul Gellersen. Monty was known by many and loved by all.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Central Lutheran Church, Winona, MN. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel, Goodview, MN and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Cedar Valley Cemetery, Winona, MN.
