We had a good time with you at your home and boating at Lake Pepin. Your family will be in our prayers. Remember to stay close to your friends; it will be good for you and good for them also. Fay and Oskar Strobel "
"Although I didn't know Kathy personally, I will always be grateful to her for offering a place for me to stay after losing my apartment and its possessions in the flood of August 2007. How wonderful to offer this to a complete stranger! Thank you! All my prayers, Karen."
"When visiting Pleasant Valley Church to take part in the music worship, I would be very happy whenever Kathy was also scheduled. What a pleasure it was to sing alongside her, and such a joy to work with. I look forward to harmonizing with her again someday in paradise. She really IS a treasure."
"We were so sorry to hear of your wife's sudden death. We will keep you and your children in our prayers. Just as the Fastenal family supported us after Brian's head injury, we know you will find support and comfort from them also."
"To Kathy's family, You have my sincerest sympathy. Kathy was a wonderful student and friend. She was blessed with a beautiful voice and musical talent which she shared with her church and community. She will be greatly missed, but remember all of the good times she had with you and her family and friends. Do not dwell on her death, but rejoice in the life she made for herself and family. Celebrate her life joyously! May God help you in this time of sorrow. Take comfort in him. My deepest sympathy. Candace"
"Thank you for filling my childhood with fun summer days; you were the best babysitter a kid could ever ask for! I remember you carrying us on your shoulders for a "camel ride" around the house. Our heads nearly reached the ceiling! I also remember you taking us to see Allan at the bakery so we could have a doughnut and you could smit with your future husband! The Hegnauer sisters will always have fond and loving memories of you."
"To Kathy's husband, children, family, and friends. I was a classmate many years ago in Blair, Wi. I shared much of my childhood with Kathy and I feel blessed to have known her. I have many memories of her tremendous kindness and laughter. Please except my deepest of sympathies. Respectfully, Kurt Johnstad"

"Dear AJ, Aleesha, Adam & Jacob, We are so sorry to hear about Kathy. I know she is with her Lord right now but we will certainly miss her kindness and gentleness here on this earth. We were a part of your past but you both were such role models to my children during their high school years. You don't always know that you touch lives as your walk through life's path---I thank the Lord that Kathy and Al touched our lives. I can still hear Kathy, Jenee and Martha singing "On Eagle's Wings" during one of the church services. That's where I see Kathy now. We'll miss her.... Jean"
"We rejoice that you have seen the son of God's face today and will live with him forever. We are sad because we can't see your beautiful face and hear your beautiful voice here on earth. Our family prays for peace, comfort, and understanding for your family."
"I have been singing worship songs all week that I remember Kathy loved. I'll always laugh when I listen to an Amy Grant song in rememberence of Kathy and I singing at the top of our lungs while driving around Buffalo County. I'm missing you, friend! Jenee"

"Al - Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Aleesha, Adam and Jacob. I always enjoyed talking with Kathy and sharing a laugh with her. She was blessed with a warm personality that was magnetic. I'm thankful that she touched my life in a positive, memorable way. Peace and Blessings"
"To Al, Aleesha, Adam, and Jacob. I do not know how you go on from here but the Lord will make sure you are fine. Kathy was just a special lady. She was always quick to make sure you felt welcome and comfortable no matter where you were. Hers mile was infectious and she was a gentle, calm person (which i loved). Hailey loved her as her teacher for the last 2 years. Hailey just said this morning Kathy went to heaven and not hell she's lucky mom and I bet she's having sooo much fun. Isaac on the other hand just wants to play with Jacob. My thoughts and prayers are with you always and in time when you need friends to lean on we are always here. You know that's what Kathy would do and that's what we will do. Take care and The Lord will take care of the rest. He never faulters. God Bless all of you!"
"Al and Family, We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I will always remember Kathy as sweet and kind. I look back fondly, with a smile and giggle, as I remember the great fun we had as kids at birthday and slumber parties. A part of her has touched so many, and she lives on each of us and our memories. Lisa Hansen and Family"
"Al and family I was so sorry to read about Kathy passing. She was a truly special person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember when you lived in the valley and Kathy and the kids would go around and hang May baskets on our doorknobs. Susie & Dave"
"Al, You and the kids are in our prayers and the prayers of our church. Life is so uncertain - but God is always faithful. Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Isaiah 40:18-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
"Kathy had a gift of song...and now she is singing in heaven.. God Bless you Al and the kids... You are all in my prayers. Blessings mary koontz"
"Kathy I will never forget how nice you were to me. We just bumped into you and AJ out shopping Sunday. You were how I have always seen you smiling and teasing the kids....just having a good day. I have been close to this family and this hurts just like it would if we were related. You will always be remembered as a good person with a heart of gold. Thank you for being there for me talking about the loss of my mom which will be two years Friday you helped me through some tough days.....you know I love your kids like they were my nephews and niece. Danielle and I will be there for them and AJ. You will never be forgotten. We love you..."
"At first, I knew of Kathy thru the daycare children who enjoyed her preschool classes. Then, Kathy and I were in The Sound of Music at Rock Solid. It was fun to get to know her. I always enjoyed her calm demeanor and gentle laugh. My sympathy. May your memories become your comfort. Maureen Speltz"

"Al, Aleesha, Adam, and Jacob, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Kathy touched the lives of many during her time on this earth. Our daughter Paige was blessed to have Kathy as her preschool teacher for two years and Paige told me tonight that Mrs. Rothering is still a teacher but is now teaching all the children in heaven. I believe she is surrounded by little angels and will continue to watch over all those she left behind. She truly earned her wings while on earth and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. May the memories you have be forever in your hearts and may the love of family and friends bring you comfort and peace. Our sincerest sympathies go out to all of you."
