"I was shocked when I heard the news from Pat Buresh of Ron's death. I immediately thought of Elisa and Jesse and the sorrow that they still feel for the loss of their mother such a short time ago. It hit me hard as well as it was the same week that my father died 5 years ago. Once the shock of his loss is gone, you will have wonderful memories of your time together as you all were so close and loved to spend time as a family. His smile was marvelous, warm and welcoming befitting of such a caring person. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. My heart breaks for your losses in the last months but I know that your love for your family and your memories of your parents will help you through these hard times. Fondly, Judy"

"I worked in the Extension Office, next door to Ron's FSA office for 3 years, and I will always remember the smiles and laughter he shared with others at work. He had the funniest costumes at Halloween - I'm sure I'll never forget some of them! I remember the photos he had of his granddaughter and how he loved to talk about her. I'm saddened to hear of your loss and your family will be in our prayers. Kelly, Rebecca, Alex & Matthew"

I did not know him as well as your Mom, but he always reminded me of a teddy bear...a kind and gentle man with a big heart, and you just wanted to hug him. Elisa, you and Jess have had to endure more than anyone should have to at such a young age. You had wonderful, loving parents and I hope in time, your memories of them will carry you forward and help to ease your grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. "Ron was a man of great strength, yet held a certain nurturing quality that will be greatly missed. My family has only had the privilege of spending a handful of events with Ron, and each one was made memorable by his kindness and generosity. Ron possessed an enthusiasm for life, love, and friendship and we will miss his infectious laugh and jolly smile. I will always remember that both Ron and I wore the same type of sandles to a St. Paul Saints game. I complained about getting blisters because mine were brand new. Ron told me he had his for about 8 years, so I needed to be patient to "break them in". Whenever I put on those sandles, I'll think of Ron walking right beside me. Our prayers, thoughts, and positive vibes to all the Hatlevig family. Love, Brian, Angie, and Louie"
