Rita Rompa
December 20, 1931 - April 20, 2009

Rita Rompa, 77, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at her home in Winona, MN. Rita was born in Winona, MN, on December 20, 1931, to Theophila K. and John J. Rompa. She was a 1949 graduate of Winona High School, and is a member of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rita retired as an assistant Vice President after 45 years of service at Winona National Savings Bank.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John and Raymond, and nephew, Stephen Rompa.
She is survived by her sisters, Grace (Roger) Brown and Janet Rompa; brother, Michael (Anne) Rompa; sister-in-law, Joanne Rompa; and nieces, nephews and families.
Rita was a member of the Polish Heritage Society and did volunteer work at Community Memorial Hospital and Winona Historical Society. Rita loved traveling extensively both home and abroad.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, April 25th, at 10:30 am at St. Casimir Catholic Church with the Reverend Robert Stamschror officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Honoring Rita's wishes, there will be no reviewal and suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be designated to the Arthritis Foundation.

She and Shirley Brown had to endure my "little pranks" when my father took us to the bank on Saturday mornings.She was a wonderful person and I always looked forward to visiting with her whenever I was in Winona. She had made the bank a special place for many customers. She will be missed."
