I should have taken time to write this letter a long time ago, because I want you to know a little about what I have found, and what I'm doing in this work of the gospel.
In 1973 is the first time I ever heard of this way that is so different. I was sitting in class at the Lewiston High School reading my Bible in the free time that we had. I did this a number of times because my time was really filled with other things. Not always very important things, but never the less time was full. As I sat reading one day my classmate came and sat beside me. I knew him well because we often wanted to wrestle the same weight. That meant each week we would have to wrestle off to see who would wrestle on "A" team. Clare began the conversation by asking me why I was reading my Bible. Was it for some church work or some class? No, I said. I just enjoy reading. Do you believe what you are reading, he asked. Well sure I do, was my reply. Well do you believe that everything Jesus taught was true? Yes, I do! Well then do you believe His ways and words are still true for us today? I thought for a while and said, Well it must be true for us if it was true for them in Jesus day.
At first when Clare began asking me questions I thought I would tell him some things about the Bible but the way he asked me questions I felt he knew more than I did about it. And sure enough he did for in his very next question he asked me something I never thought about before; even though I had read about it. Do you think the preachers should still teach and follow in the same way as Jesus taught and did? And once again I had to agree. Then he told me more about what he believed. Preachers who went the same way Jesus went, fellowship meetings in the home, and no denominational name. I didn't take it all in right away and asked him where he got the scripture for all this. We talked often about these things and he invited me to Gospel Meetings.
That's when I saw the gospel lived out. It was true about all he told me! I knew just by watching that these people and preachers had a love for God. Then I went to my first Sunday morning meeting. Each one had a little part in prayer and testimony. It seemed like each word came from deep within. After that meeting I was sure this was the way of God. And after quite a few gospel meetings I stood to my fee and professed that this way was right and I wanted to be a part of it. In the fall of the year I went to convention. It was 4 days long and 3 meetings each day. I enjoyed it so much I went to 4 more. In each convention the Bible became more real to me. Of all that was said there was not on contradictory thing. But there was edification that helped me love these things more! At the 5th convention I offered my life for the ministry, for I knew this is what the Lord was laying on my heart.
It was a whole year before I was accepted and an older brother came to talk to me. He told me this work could be very hard at times but it was also the most rewarding of all. He also told me some of his own experiences in this work that helped me very much! I then sold or gave away everything except the changes of clothes I needed. Most of my money went to Mom and Dan and the rest was scattered among many people.
Now after 2 years in this work I'm very glad for all that has come my way. Since Clare talked to me! I have the best life anyone could home for, and I hope I'll have strength to continue all my days!
In this summary I have left out much. Many times my heart was touched and I was overjoyed as God revealed his work and way to me. There were longings in my heart and questions in my mind before this, but now I'm satisfied that this is truth through and through. If you ever want to know more about this way or what I'm doing, Please Ask!!

"Marlon- what could one say that hasn't been said, thought, and prayed. Marlon was in UT when my daughter and husband moved there. Daughter pregnant and they were moving into a downstairs apartment. Marlon said, "you just stand there and tell us which room the boxes go into And they were moved in one evening. When it came time to move to the bigger house. Here comes Marlon and companion, most was moved by then, but washer, dryer, and freezier, up out of the apartment and off to the new place in a flash. He was so happy to help! My little grand kids just loved him. I don't think they will ever truely understand what a friend they had in Marlon. Can't we all say the same about Jesus! Love and condolences~ Nellie"

Marlon, Stephen Janes, and Sam McCracken met us in Augusta (coming from Cassett, SC) so we could bring Sam back to Winterville to see Taylor. We met at Cracker Barrel and had a short visit while having lunch together. Would love to have had more time to get to know him personally, but have appreciated the bond of the spirit that is so felt in our hearts with those of "like precious faith". Our hearts go out to family and friends who did know him personally."

Tim, Joyce, Lindsi, Logan, & Landon Lawrence wrote on Nov 1, 2008:

"Our thoughts have been on Marlon frequently in the 2 weeks since his death and they have been an inspiration for us to seek to be more like him. I have thought of his desire at the young age of 8 to know God, and it was very evident to us that spent time with Marlon, that he truly was in touch with our God. The spirit that he had was so much like the spirit of Christ. I thought of the hymn #306 in relation to Marlon's life. God longs a Father true to be- God responded to Marlon's yearning for him. He'll guide and help you day by day- He did this for Marlon. Would you not seek what Abram had, The conscious guidance of God's hand- Marlon truly had this. As launching forth, He knew not where- He placed all his trust in the care and keeping of God and gave his life to God's control in the seeking of God's children. He went to seek the promised land- He is there today. Fear not the mountain's rocky slope, or even the valleys dark below..- We heard at Marlon's funeral that He wasn't afraid for his service to God to cost him something. This is the path that leads to God, Tis sweet each day with him to go.- We can safely follow the path that Marlon followed as it is the same path laid down by Jesus. Sweet is the story that you shall tell, At eventide, when day is done: The Lord is faithful, and does ALL well. Him will I serve and Him alone.- If Marlon could speak to us today this is what He would be telling us, and do we not remember him telling us this when he was here with us. The Chorus goes: Fair are the prospects all ahead, And good the land He offers free; The one who all our fathers led will lead thee though: He waits for thee.-Truly, Fair are the prospects all ahead for those who seek God in sincerity as Marlon did. Our condolences to all who have lost a Brother, Fellow Laborer, Friend and Guide."

In the years to follow as we kept in touch, his love for the King and the kingdom, and the Lord's people is a lasting impression. I feel grateful to have ever crossed paths with Marlon while in the work. Our thoughts go out to all who feel the loss of a dear family friend, and brother in Christ. Love in Christ, Rob"

"It was indeed a great privilege to have Marlon in and out of our home from August 2007, and for the privilege of assisting in the care of his mail. We enjoyed his and Bobby's gospel meetings in Radford and Vinton. He was anxious to get back to the meetings in Radford and had one of our friends scheduling some meetings when his illness occurred. He also did a lot of manual labor on the convention grounds at Pulaski. Many will enjoy the fruit of his labor both natural and spiritual. He will certainly be missed by all in this area."

Dorie Hernandez wrote on Oct 30, 2008:

"Uncle Marlon was the most genuine Godly caring person I have ever met in my life. He was kind, loving, and always interested in what I was doing with my life. My mom told me when Marlon would visit she and Mark during his travels nearby, he always asked about my brother's and I. I never heard him utter an unkind word about anyone or raise his voice in anger. I will always miss his kindhearted nature. The loss of Uncle Marlon is huge. I don't understand the reason God decided to take him Home so young. I know it is not for me to understand just yet. The 1200+ friends and family who gathered at his funeral was enormous and testified to the character and influence Marlon had with people. I wish there were more Marlon's in this world. I will miss him always."

"We have been blessed more than we could ever know by Marlon's faithful life. In conversation with him several years ago we mentioned our desire to move to Utah. He was very pleased with the idea and said he would pray for us as well. We were able to move here to Utah a year ago in time to lend support during my nephew's battle with cancer. I will never forget my first memory of Marlon. I was seven years old the year he entered the work. One day we were preparing to go to a Special Gospel Meeting. My mother was very happy because we were invited to hear a new brother worker speak in one of his first Gospel Meetings. That brother was Marlon, and he was wearing a brown suit! I had never seen a brother wear anything but black or navy blue. I noticed how young he was and was very disappointed when my mother said he wouldn't be in our field. As the years passed and I became older, I began to notice Marlon's gentle Christ-like spirit. So many times I have been uplifted and encouraged by his words which pointed to Christ in humbleness. David as well has memories from childhood of Marlon. Then in college he roomed with Dan in the Chicago area. One thing David has mentioned is that Marlon called him 'friend" in our last visit with him at Emo in 06. At that time he encouraged us to keep praying about relocating to Utah. We miss Marlon, but we have such wonderful memories of him living for what is right, and finishing faithfully that will comfort and encourage us for the rest of our lives. "

He will be missed by many and we extend our sympathies to all."

He didn't stay here at our place for convention but went on to the United States..We got to know him quite well and appreciated him so much and it is a shock to know he took ill so quickly and then passed away...We will always remember our days with him. We think of his family too and they will have good memories of Marlon to think upon in the future."

"I have very fond memories of Marlon in the work in our area up by Detroit Lakes, MN in his very early years in the work. As a teenager his realness and humbleness had a big impact. My regret is that my path had not crossed with Marlon's in many years so I did not get to see him in his later years in the work. Our thoughts go out to his family and those he was laboring amongst that will feel the loss so intently."

We will miss his sweet countenance, his smile and genuine mild manner that he portrayed to all he met. He is gone but not forgotten. Our condolences to the family and to the Craven's. Bless you, Clare, for having the courage to speak to him about Jesus."

"When Marlon gave his life to bring the Gospel to others, I was a young girl in my late teens in MN. It really spoke volumes to me to see his yielded life. Now for the past two years our family has appreciated having him in our part here in NC and we can only say "Amen" to all the previous tributes written. We too remember so well the way he always said "THANKFUL" and "Isn't it wonderful?" His life helped me have a better understanding of what a Christ filled life looked like, and he was a true picture of someone who looked on the lives of others through the Eyes of Love. Our love to family and friends, Florene and family"

Gilman Halbakken wrote on Oct 26, 2008:

"I believe Marlon started his journey with Jesus when he believed and trusted Jesus for his salvation as Jesus stated in John 6:27-41 and vs, 47, and other scripture like Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with hime and him with Me." As a result God was able to use Marlon, enhancing him through the Holy Spriit, and giving him the passion of Christ and Jesus' love for others; that others might know and love Jesus and God the Father. These many tributes are a result of God working through Marlon's life. I love Marlon and am thankful that God has ministered through him. I am also thankful to the "brotherhood" that has helped Marlon in his ministry these many years."

"Reading over all these tributes... what an out-pouring of love and appreciation for Marlon! And it's all because of what he encouraged the Lord to do and to be in his life! I made my choice in he and Robert Wiseman's meetings in northern MN as a young child. Glad for the privileges in the last few years of being at a couple conventions with him, now as a co-worker in this great Work, and the greater bond there is in that. One memory I have is him speaking at Hector a number of years ago all about the sacrifice Jesus made for us, and the tears just flowed. Thinking of all who feel the loss of his gentle life."

Don and Glenda Ball wrote on Oct 26, 2008:

"It was truly one of the great privileges of our lifetime to have Marlon with us in the western Virginia for one short year. We were already looking forward to his return, his wise council, his unfeigned love and zeal for his God and for his calling in Christ to share the Gospel story with his fellow man, and his dedication to feed the lambs and sheep that God put in his care. Instead we gathered at his funeral reminded as someone spoke in our little fellowship meeting this morning, that ??we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.? And we believe that Marlon would want us to focus on the treasure that God revealed to him and trusted him with, and not on the earthen vessel? because the treasure is forever? and it can be ours also if we respond to God like Marlon. So, Marlon, we miss you, but the God given treasure that you have shared with us and your memory will remain a positive influence amongst us. We want to honor your memory by loving and serving the God that you loved and served all of our remaining days. Our thoughts and prayers continue on behalf of family, friends, and co-workers everywhere. "

"Thinking of our gathering today, in memory of and paying our respects to our brother and friend Marlon, as well as to his family we feel the inadequacy of words to express our feelings, yet we know the God who worked so wonderfully in Marlon's life is the same God and Father who stands by us now in our need. We feel humbled to think of Marlon's prayers as well as the prayers of others answered through the years that have led us to bow and worship today, not because we understand the reason for Marlon's recent passing but because we trust and know that God has and will bless us if we allow Him to through every experiece . We trust God more than we have before because of being inspired by the work of God in Marlon's life and seeing the fulfillment of scripture and God's will in Marlon's years walking with Christ. It does invite us to know God, Christ and the Spirit's help and fellowship like Marlon did. It is and will be comforting to know God's help and direction as we gather today. May you each as family, his brothers, nephews, nieces, close friends in the home meeting, field, state and staff, as well as each coming from further away as well as those thinking of the service today, unable to be present, feel God's presence as you seek Him. Thank you for all you have been to your brother through this experience of illness and death as well as through the years. We appreciate how you have respected Marlon's call to labor in the Harvest field, though it brought him far from home and family enabling Marlon to share the wonderful story and work of Jesus with so many. Again, our heartfelt sympathy as co-workers and friends of Marlon. Jon"

"We have many wonderful memories of Marlon and will always appreciate the spirit of God that was shining through him. The last time he was in our home, I mentioned a man that couldn't wait to retire early. Marlon gave that "Marlon" smile and said, "I'm just getting started!" Of course he was right, when we have Jesus living in our hearts and lives, this life is just the beginning. We will miss Marlon! Reading the tributes has been a big help, and thinking about Marlon's life puts a desire in my heart to be more Kingdom minded and to be an encouragement and help to others. Our sympathy to all of Marlon's family and friends."

Something about Marlon made us want to protect him from any hurt, but it was he that was looking out for our souls, when he shared such deep, helpful things from the scriptures. At Pulaski, VA convention (2008), our 9 year old son professed in a meeting that Marlon led. Marlon made that hymn real to all of us, "Was it For Me?". After the meeting, Marlon found us, and offered a hug to Corbin that won't be forgotten by any of us. To Marlon's family; thank you for sharing your beloved brother with us. His short years in VA were precious ones to us. His unwavering love and service to God has renewed our own purpose to serve to the very end. We feel for you, and wish only comfort for your loss. Our first human thought is why, when the laborers in God's harvest are so few and Marlon was in his prime. But we have the comfort of knowing our Father makes no mistakes. We pray there will be fresh sacrifice and abundant fruit from it. Just reading through the condolances, one can feel the spirit of God's people and servants. After we heard Marlon had gone home, we were remembering his testimony and trying to remember where we had heard it. We got out our guest book and found that in 1989, all of the Iowa workers and some from Minnesota had been in our home for a meal before they began special meeting rounds. Marlon was one of them..and we remembered someone asked him to give his testimony. His kind, gentle and caring spirit that echoes over and over from everyone, was so like Jesus spirit. He was a quiet calm in the middle of a storm, a smile and demeanor that was as friendly as you've ever seen or ever will see. A kind, gentle, warm. and loving man who knew what to say to let you understand; to let his audience understand. He was a lot like my mother... Marlon was a man of God, that he was. "It is so hard to believe that Marlon is really gone. Our 9 year old son is so sad, he said "NO NOT MARLON". Marlon was such a wonderful man. He came to St Kitts and Nevis for our convention in 2007. He was so helpful spiritually and very handy around the house. Our son brought to our attention things that Marlon had done at the house while he stayed at us. That Christ like spirit was manifested in his life. Everything he said and done portrayed Christ. There was always a glow about him, you could not help but smile when he was around. At our convention in Nevis, Marlon spoke from Mark chapter 6:1. This mighty work that Jesus was about to accomplish. Jesus came to his own and he came with healing in his wings. Jesus fulfilled all he came to do. Deut. Chapter 28. He spoke about the blessings of obedience... No one will escape God we will have to bow. The wind bloweth where it listeth... God's Spirit is speaking everday... Do we hear the sound of the Spirit of God... The only difference between God's people and the World, God's people respond to His word. This is just a little of some of what Marlon shared with us. It was so touching to hear him tell us about how he met that young man at school who introduced him to the Truth and how he went into the Ministry. Spoke about his Mom, and brothers, especially Dan. This is what Marlon wrote in our Guests Book; " 22-12-07 USA, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR KINDNESS. I APPRECIATE YOUR OPEN HOME AND ALL YOU DO FOR THE KING! LOVE YOUR ISLAND" Marlon will always be remembered. He was so meek and the beauty of Jesus was definitely seen in him. We are so glad that Marlon did get the opportunity to visit us in the Caribbean, not many get that privilege. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his brothers and their family, especially Dan, and all his CoWorkers, The Friends and all whose lives he touched. Hymn 411 SWEET, SWEET RELEASE What more can we say more than, HE BEGUN CONTINUED AND ENDURED TO THE END. ANOTHER FAITHFUL ONE HAS BEEN LEFT ON RECORD AS IN THE DAYS OF OLD, NOW EVEN IN OUR TIME. He also spoke in the Saturday evening meeting; he said "I was at my G'mas house when God first spoke to me; I went upstairs; shut the door; got down on my knees and asked God, are your there?" A very helpful message indeed. Many made their start when we sang hymn 87. We're thinking of all you who are family and close friends. "We are sad to think of the illness that took Marlon so quickly. He is released from the pain of this life to the eternal life he lived most of his life for. We talked with him at Hunter Convention. He said his brother had done a genealogy and the Lunstad name was found. My mother (Adeline Lunstad) and her brother(Jalmer Lunstad) just loved when their Dad (John Lunstad) took them to Minn for fishing trips as they would get to play with all the Halbakken cousins. This would have been in the 1920's. When she heard Marlon's name many years later she asked him. He doubted we were related. Later Mom talked with his Mother and she said yes we were related. My Grandpa & Grandma Lunstad professed in about 1921. We plan to come to the funeral with my sister and her husband (Darryl & Betty Justesen)"

"There are simply no words that can express our feelings at this time. I will quote 2Cor 9:15 ??Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift?. Sharing experiences with Marlon when he was searching for answers in his life and seeing his response to God's voice has been, at times, just too wonderful to take in. The choices that he made in his youth allowed the Spirit of Jesus to enter his life and that is what made Marlon the man he was. Our love for Marlon is difficult to express, but can possibly be understood by the words that are used to explain the relationship between David and Jonathan. 1 Samuel 18:1 ??the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.? As I ponder Marlon??s life I understand that his best friend was Jesus, and because of that he became my best friend on this earth. I have read the tributes and have received much encouragement from what has been written. What we are witnessing is not only a tribute to Marlon, but an affirmation of our faith concerning the love of God that unites his servants and saints throughout the world. Marlon??s life was not only dedicated to bringing the words of the Bible to others, but God's Truth as it was revealed to him by the Spirit. He gave his life completely, just as the twelve apostles and then the seventy were asked to do in Jesus day. What would be his message be to us, if we were able to speak with him now? Surely it would be to ??Hold fast to what we have attained?. Our hymn 403 ??Impelled by Love? is a beautiful explanation of Marlon??s life and Testimony. To my dear brother Dan, I understand and mourn with you. We together feel the blessing of Gods comfort and joy in Marlon??s victory. The love for the life of Jesus, the Truth of God, overshadows our loss. To all of Marlon??s brothers and family we love you. Thank you for sharing your brother with us. You have our deepest condolences. Your brother and sister because of Christ, Clare and Debbie Craven "

II Timothy If I believe that God can help me fight this fight of faith, He'll do more than I ask. God thinks about us more than we will ever understand. His thoughts toward me are numbered more than the grains of sand. We will have an end to our difficulty and we'll be able to rest....so fight the good fight. (not exact words) -- He was the last to speak that day in the last meeting of the convention, & afterwards, Ken Lerwick (who was later also taken from us too soon) asked the workers only to sing the 1st verse of hymn 370, the friends only to sing the 2nd verse & then all of us sing the last 2 together. It is only a breath of time for Marlan from the time he is resting to the time when he will arise again and be with his father. For us, our hearts are heavy because we miss the loving influence and the kindness that he brought to all of us. It was the actual presence of God and his son that were with him that we felt when he was in his presence. This gives us a measure of hope that we will have it again, one day, as we take our turn to go home and be with our heavenly father for all eternity. I appreciated Marlan's sincerity, struggle to overcome the human, and to remain a servant for his Father's sake. When I read of all that has been written about him, it is truely a celebration of his life then a loss. Thank you Marlan, for allowing God to work in you, so that we could know our heavenly father even more. "It is hard to believe that Marlon is gone. His life was so influential to so many, such a good example to all. I feel like he was taken too early, that he still had so much more to offer the world, with his life of service. But I know that God had a reason to take him when He did and we can all take comfort that Marlon knew this too. The last time I saw him was at our September Union Meeting, at my grandparents house. He had the meeting and Grandma invited Nate and me to stay for lunch afterward, along with my uncle Doug, his family and Spencer. After we had finished the meal and were sitting around the table visiting, Marlon took the opportunity to bring our thoughts to Jesus. He turned to me and said, ??Jana, can I ask you a question.? I had a feeling that this would be a hard one to answer. He went on, and though I cannot remember the exact words the main idea was this; God in the old testament was a jealous and vengeful God, what changed about him in the new testament? I had just read the night before in Romans 1, where it says that ??God gave them up unto vile affections.? That God gave up on the world, however, was not the right answer, so others around the table tried to figure out what the difference was. Marlon told us the answer was Jesus, which is so right and so true. The love that Jesus has for the world has given us all the an opportunity to experience the grace and mercy of God. Marlon dedicated his life to telling others about Jesus and showing His love to them, through his own life. I am glad that God gave Marlon the ??strength to continue all [his] days!? He has gotten the victory that we are all striving for. When we said our goodbyes that day, I told him I would see him later, I never did, but hopefully I will someday. "

Perhaps He is once again reminding us that our lives are short. Like Vapors they vanish. We must always be prepared to leave at a moments notice. In case no one noticed the sky is grey and its going to rain. I thought perhaps that the Lord is crying that one of His children is leaving us and is coming home and He knows how much we need him. It is as if the world is grieving for Our Brother Marlon. That's what it makes me think of when it rains and I wonder where in the world one of our own has passed. We may not be able to see Our Brother Marlon again but he will always be with us, we just won't be able to see his body in the flesh but his spirit will be with us always. We are, after all, One Mind, One Body, One Spirit in Christ! Isn't that why we always have an empty chair in any meeting we are in? Marlon has the ultimate testimony for us all --- we must be ready to leave when the time comes and we know not when that will be. He has the Victory now. He is safe in Our Fathers loving arms. Keep Reaching for Mercy's Seat and always, Keep Fighting the battle because in the final analyzes of it all, it's only between you and the Lord anyway. May God have mercy on us all. First, I want to thank God for sending Marlon into my life as a brother. I have learned so much from his words and actions. The words were carefully chosen before spoken as he said, "once the words leave your mouth you can't take them back." His actions were swift to glorify God and to help anyone who needed/wanted it. I feel he was able to do these things by starting each day with reading scripture and talking with his friend, Jesus. Second, thanks to all of you for sharing how you loved Marlon. Lastly, Marlon's life on this earth had purpose; to bring everyone he met closer to God. There is a big difference between having a job to do, and having a calling. I feel Marlon accepted his calling with total commitment. That he truly felt the awsome love of God and wanted to help others feel it too. I feel a great loss from Marlon's passing, but because of Marlon I have gained so much more in my life. I will never forget him or be able to say thank you enough."

Marlon was even showing me more compassion as a natural brother than before he professed. I said I wanted this also in my life. Through the years the biggest help to me is what he told me. God wants us to serve Him with mind and heart together; not one or the other. God??s mercy is new each morning. Strive to serve Him better each day. He was my natural brother, my spiritual brother, and my best friend. I will miss you but I know those days in the hospital with you day and night that you were ready to go home. "Marlon and I met at Pulaski Convention grounds when he came east to labor in the VA/MD fields, His first field was the eastern and western shores of Maryland, and I was privileged to see him often and was touched by his gentle spirit that was so easily moved to tears as he presented the Gospel message. For two weeks Marlon and I worked in adjacent work spaces during Downings Convention preps this year. The Downings weather lived up to its reputatation as extremely hot and humid, and several time Marlon said to me that he was glad to see the end of the day. His gentle helpful spirit added to the atmosphere of the preparations. I am thankful it was my privilege to get to know him, and to be exposed to the spirit of such a gentle, capable and competent brother. He finished his course in life with honor, and leaves a legacy of gentle kindness all along the paths he trod."

"We considered the transition of Marlon from Colorado to Maryland such an indescribeable blessing. To have been able to share a page in his book of life will forever be appreciated, for we see.....a little while will soon be gone! Marlon displayed such a beautiful humble love and continued to encourage his companions..what an example provided to inspire each of us to contine to let God produce in us what God had worked in Marlon's life. I was honored to walk along side of Marlon with one of his companions one day as we witnessed to a friend. That day will forever be a reminder to me along the stepping stones of this life journey of the precious sowing of the seed for Eternity's dawn. Thankful that Our God is an Awesome God and He has a Perfect Plan. Hope Faith and Charity.....above all Charity.....that was Marlon !! Love and Light to Marlon's family and Companions to continue to be encouraged !"

Eilene Gilliland wrote on Oct 18, 2008:

"I was privileged to hear Marlon's last convention message, Sunday, Oct 5, at Independence, KS. He chose hymn 368 before he spoke ". . . Satisfied, satisfied, I am satisfied indeed." His opening statement was ". . .this means everything to us." He continued with thoughts from Phil 2:13. Marlon's life was a manifestation of the words he spoke. He was gentle amongst us. Today I was reflecting on what we would have missed if Claire had hesitated to invite Marlon to listen to the Gospel. It should make us more courageous to invite others to ". . .come and see". My heartfelt sympathy to his family, his co-workers, and many friends. It was so sudden, we keenly feel the loss, but glory to God for the work he did in Marlon's yielded life and for sharing him with us during life's short day. "

"What can I say that hasn' already been said? Not much, but I will add just a few of the thoughts that have been going through my mind. We never had the privilege of knowing Marlon except for the few times we met him at Conventions and were fed so bountifully with the Bread of Life. We did recognize his Spirit. He was at Blackwater in September and we enjoyed the depth of his spirit and the wealth of his message. I remember thinking that I would love to have the operttunity to get better acquainted with him and hoped someday we might. We know you, Dan, and our hearts go out to you and your brothers and families and the friends that knew him best. Also we think of you who have labored with him and have valued his life and Friendship and Fellowship and understand your sorrow. Most of all we glory in our Heavenly Father and our Elder Brother and the wonderful Family in which we have a part and place and the wonderful Hope we have for Eternity. That is what made Marlon what he was, the Spirit of Christ with in and makes all the beautiful, heartfelt words that have been spoken of him possible.."
