"I have known Ruth well since 1982 when I began working closely with her at St. Charles High School. I was Mr. Ames' assistant so the three of us were a team. Ruth quickly earned my respect as a co-worker and friend. She was very good at her job and a fun and pleasant person to be around. Whenever a staff member had as question or problem they couldn't solve, they sought out Ruth as she either knew the answer or how to find it. One of Ruth's most endearing qualities was her sense of humor. She loved to laugh and could even laugh at herself. She once called me into her office because the mouse connected to her computer was not working correctly. As she demonstrated for me I could see she was right. Then I looked down at the mouse and saw that she had it turned upside down! We sure had a good laugh over it! My sympathy to the family. Treasure your memories of Ruth as I will."

"My sympathy to you and your family, Ruth has made an imprint of everyones lives, she was a wonderful ,kind, and very funny lady. I will always remember her, I think she always enjoyed slumber parties at julies home because of the fun we had for her (the changing of clothes from the clothesline) Your mom will always be remembered, and you will find great memories of her will always be there. May God be with you all to help comfort you."

"Hey Guys! From all of us to all of you, our sincerest sympathies at this most difficult hour. We recall your mother (and you) with fondness and admiration. Always a helpful and cheerful face in the school office and in the lunch line, she never forgot a name and always had a way of solving your problem. Had she been a bit more vocal I'm sure Barack Obama would have considered her as a running mate! Our dad always enjoyed visiting with Ruth and we'll never forget the kindness the Kiefers showed to us over all these years. Best Wishes, boys. Nick, look for my daughter, Rachel, in Shangai. She's the blonde! Tom"
