"Living on the west coast allows infrequent visits to the Rushford area, but the last two trips provided the chance to visit with Uncle Mel. We, of course, shared coffee and some good stories of years gone past. Mel talked about a few WWII stories when he was in the service. There were a few humorous work episodes where Mel had a chance to play a trick on a few big wigs. We sure had a good laugh over those. Of all the things he said the one I personally endorse is the doctor's orders to have a beer every day. Don't believe you can go wrong with that one. My favorite saying is to know that "A day is not over, that a memory makes." Always remember those good days, the good stories, and don't forget to have a beer every day. Dale"
