"Obviously I have many memories but one that sticks out right now is when my girls were babies and were fussy, Mom could always make them calm down. She just had a way with babies and kids. Whenever Hayley and Lilly got dirty at Mom and Dad's they always liked to change into Grandma's clothes. Mom had a collection of children's clothes she had available if ever anyone needed an extra set. My girls usually went home in some of "Grandma's Clothes!""
"One of many memories I have of Delaine was staying overnight at her house and being homesick. She just gave me a hug and said "the night will so fast and morning will be here before you know it so you can see your mom". I also remember being chased by the geese in her yard....was so scared that I started to run and I ran right into Delaine and said "those geese are after me". She, of course, just chuckled like she always did and chased the geese away. Delaine was so kind and thoughtful of others and always put others before herself. Will miss her smile!"
"I got to know Delaine a couple years ago when Niki, Sammi and Sophie became a part of her family. She welcomed them into her home and her heart. I felt that Sammi and Sophie were blessed to have another grandma in their lives. One of my memories of Delaine is when I would go to her home to get the girls she would have a sick or injured barn cat in the house nursing it back to health. I believe that when you give of yourself to others you are blessed many times over in return. As I got to know Delaine I knew she was a kind and caring lady who was a blessing to her friends and family. She is sadly missed and as Sophie told me 'grandma Delaine went to heaven.' Yes, Sophie she did and the angels are singing."
"Delaine was always the aunt with a smile on her face and had a kind word to say. She was completely committed to her family, never passed judgment on anyone and respected all she came in contact with. She had wonderful stories to tell about "us" growing up as her neices and nephews and these stories reflected the love she had for each of us. And of course she made "Aunt/Neice wine day" a great day to remember! She will be missed by all but always remembered."
" Our prayers and deepest sympathys are with you all through such a rough time so unexpectly. We will always remember the warm and freindly welcome we always got when we all came hunting. All of us been hunting there for several years always enjoyed the conversations with her and the whole family. She will be sadly missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all."
