Claire Pauline Coté, 72, of Burlington died peacefully at 4:35 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at Burlington Care Center following a brief illness.
Claire was born April 11, 1943 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts where she remained to raise her family before moving to Burlington, Iowa. She was an avid bird watcher and remained a strong advocate for the welfare and protection of cats until her death.
She leaves behind her sons Carn Coté of Burlington and Dana Coté-Cadet and his husband Lyell Cadet-Cote' of Boston, Massachusetts; her sisters, Irene Malsbendon and her husband John of Colchester, Connecticut, and Rita Sylvanus of Arcadia, Florida; three nieces, Carol, Marsha and Sheila and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her burial will be private. The memorial funeral service for Ms. Cote' will be 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11th at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO BOX 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 in support of brain and thoracic cancer research.
