In loving memory of

Jeffery Sims
April 22, 1955 - February 24, 2016

Jeffery Lynn Sims, born April 22nd, 1955, passed away February 24th, 2016, at the age of 60. Born in Seattle, Washington to parents John and Edris, he grew up in West Seattle with his brother, Donald. He graduated high school in Oak Harbor and went on to study criminal psychology. He worked in both the service industry, as well as the field of construction. He loved baseball, bird-watching, black powder gun competitions, and all things musical. He loved, and was loved immensely in return, by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Edris Sims, and his nephew, Brian Sims. He is survived by his girlfriend of almost 20 years, Marilyn; his two daughters, Shanyn and Jennifer; his brother Donald and his wife Carol; niece, Danielle; great-niece, Nicole; and great-nephew, JD. Long time friend and neighbor, Randy, as well as his kitties, are family too! My dad will be remembered for so many things, but mostly his generosity of spirit and kindness of heart. He gladly gave away anything he had to anyone he felt needed it more. His clever sense of humor, thoughtful intelligence, and his completely infectious laughter will be deeply missed. My world is a better place for having had him in it, and I believe that to be true for anyone who knew him. Dad... I hope you're sleeping peaceful... knowing that YOU DID GOOD and that there isn't a day or an hour that passes...

"Just heard of this today and it kind of breaks my heart. Fond memories of a really good friend, both in school and the years following. So sorry to have lost touch in the years after high school but life sometimes takes in directions we don't expect. To his girls, your dad was a really good guy, someone many of us wish we had one more meeting with."

"Dad, I love you so much. There's so much to say, and I wish I could go back and change how it all went, but I know in my heart that you love me and that will never change. I'm grateful to have been there with you towards the end- I sure hope it helped you. No more suffering, no more fear. Thank you for the long hug and the heartfelt moments. I will carry them with me always. We all love you and will think of you often. I will miss you forever too. Bye daddy. "

"God saw you were getting tired, And cure was not to be, So He put his arms around you, And whispered ' Come with me '. . . Dad, I miss you so much , but I know you were needed more elsewhere. I am so blessed to have had you as my Dad.Thank you for everything you have given me and for loving me that much, even when it wasn't easy. You taught me to be okay with who I am and that mistakes were only lessons and that mine didn't have to define me. You can't begin to know how many times that has saved me, even in your absence. Bye for now and know there won't be a day or an hour that passes that I won't think of you... Love You Bunches and More, Shan"
