Roger Allen Faw
Roger A. Faw, age 60 years, passed away at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Washington on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:45am from liver and kidney complications.
Roger was born in Baltimore Maryland on October 29, 1955. His parents are Elizabeth A. Antonakos (Faw) and Lemuel Ellsworth Ayres, Jr. and three sisters, Jillian, Eve and Amy.
Roger married Mary E. Cunningham (Faw) on December 31, 1985 in Baltimore MD. Their family was blessed with children, Megan Elizabeth Jean Longmore (Faw), Edward Patrick Faw and Antigone C. Spiker (Stevens). Antigone has blessed us with two grandsons, Dylan and Bradley. Also, if I did not name our pets, Buddy (labradoodle) and Buster (olde English bull dog), Roger will haunt me.
Roger will be cremated at Cascade Memorial in Bellevue WA. Upon receiving his remains, Megan and Eddie would like to invite anyone who wishes to attend, to a picnic in Roger's honor. The time and place is to be determined. The family will also be taking Roger back to Baltimore Maryland, which is our home, moving to Seattle WA in 2005, so a service can be held in his honor. Again a time and place is to be determined later.
Roger's last place of employment was Belshaw Adamatic Bakery Group located in Auburn WA and held the position of President, CEO. He was a member of BEMA, and also taught Donut School at the AIB International, and was regarded with respect and dignity in the food industry. Here is also a copy of a note written by a friend who was close to Roger during his days being Commissioner of Baltimore Metro Baseball. "It is with a heavy heart and extreme sorrow that I post this status today. My longtime friend, mentor and surrogate big brother, Roger Faw passed away this past Friday, March 18, 2016. Roger was and forever will be a huge influence on many of us who knew him. Roger was the kind of guy that when he touched your hand he also touched your heart. At least for me he did! Roger had a huge impact on me and the man I am today. His advice and wisdom always served me well. You see, Roger was the Founder, President and Commissioner of the BALTIMORE METRO BASEBALL LEAGUE (BMB) that he operated and governed over for more than 35 years. His program had a direct impact on the huge success of amateur baseball in Maryland during those years that saw such talented players like Cal & Billy Ripken, Brian Jordan, Mark Teixeira, Kenny Cloud, and Gavin Floyd just to name a few off the top of my head, that played in Roger's program. Roger's INTEGRITY was the secret of the great success Maryland Teams had on a National Level for so many years. Through Roger's efforts locally and serving on the boards of National Organizations like the NABF, Dizzy Dean and AABC, he was successful at keeping the great game of baseball alive and THRIVING in the hearts of players, coaches and parents in Maryland. Roger's memory will live eternally in my heart. He certainly was ONE OF A KIND.
Roger is survived by his wife and their 2 children. Please keep them in your thoughts and Prayers. R.I.P. Roger."

"I never met any of Roger's family members but I did want to extend my condolences to all of you.I was a colleague of Roger's in the baking industry & worked with him at DCA. I was honored & proud to have written a letter of recommendation for him when he applied for the position of President at Belshaw. I would kid him that he had me to thank for getting the job but nothing could be further from the truth. He got the job because he was a bright & talented guy.Now he is with the other big guy,John Runk, whom we shared a mutual love & respect for.Save a spot for me guys,it's just a matter of time before we all reunited.
Love ya,
Tony DeMichele"
