"My deepest sympathy goes out to the Hengel Family. Hutsy will be dearly missed. I remember the first time meeting him, always had a chuckle of some kind to get a smile or laugh out of you."
"My sincere condolences to the family. I had not heard until today. I have had little contact with the family since moving to Canada, but still have fond memories of earlier days. "
" The Hoffman family extends our sympathy to all of Hutsey's family. He will surely be missed at all the family gatherings. All his pain & suffering is over though. God bless his family. "
"Our condolences to Sylvia and Hengel family. The picture in the obit says it all: Is that a smile, or his reaction, waiting for your response to the joke he just told? Whatever, he was a special guy and a great man. I fondly recall working the station for $1 and hour in the early 50's, when he had to run home or run to Winona or some such. Thanks Huts. Have a great trip and God Bless!"
"Our Thoughts and Prayers are with the Family. " Hutsy " , will be remembered as a humble and selfless man who put others well being ahead of his own. He will be truly missed. Julius Joe Wise family"
"Dear Aunt Sylvia and the Entire Hengel Family, My deepest sympathies to you and your family for the passing of Uncle Hutsy. I have so many fond memories of him and your family. When I heard that Hutsy was in the hospital and then heard of his passing, my first memories of him always had him smiling. A few of my earliest and fondest memories of Uncle Hutsy and your family are playing horseshoes, badminton, and yard darts in that long back yard of yours (perfect yard for these games)! Watching Uncle Hutsy and his dad Ed, together many times at the house. Stopping at the "Coop" gas station in Rollingstone with dad and getting the "full service" from Uncle Hutsy with a "fill up," checking the oil and washing the car windows. Sitting on the front steps of your house, watching Hutsy make that walk between the Coop and your house (he must have made that walk ten thousand times). Watching him pass by in his mail car, never short of a smile and a wave. Uncle Hutsy was such a great family man and will be missed by so many. I am so proud to be an extension of such a wonderful family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Jane (Hoffman) Hentges"
"I was thrilled to be able to enjoy Hutsy's one liners. He always brought back great memories of my mom who was the queen of the one liners in my family. To sit during happy hour with him and Sylvia and Joan Johnson was always a great time. Will miss him>"
"My sincere condolences to Harold's family. He brought so much joy to them and beautiful memories. My favorite memories are those of the times I saw he and Sylvie at McDonalds. They ordered the same thing everyday and enjoyed it so much. When they were treated to a free drink it was a great surprise. They were the "popular" table at McDonalds. Everyone needed to go visit with them and enjoy their smiles. We always keep track of the McDonalds' daily crowd. So when they didn't show up everyone became concerned and asked questions. We all started praying for both of them and their family. I have never seen a group of people, who only know each other from McDonalds, get so concerned. What a tribute to Harold."
