Thomas Chambers, 72, of Sidney, IA, passed away on March 23, 2016 at CHI Health St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City, NE.
No visitation is scheduled and a private family service will be held.

Thomas George Chambers, son of Alfred and Mary Ann (Phillips) Chambers, was born on July 31, 1943 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Tom graduated from Carson Macedonia High School in 1961. He then attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs and received a degree in Auto Body Repair.
On June 17, 1966 he married Peggy Lou Varnold in McComb, Illinois. Tom and Peggy were blessed with five children; Raydon, Naomi, Dessie, Tonya and Thomas Jr.
Tom owned and operated Tom's Auto Body in Council Bluffs, retiring in 2004, when he sold his business.
Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting, trap shooting, collecting guns and enjoyed playing pool. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Tom passed away on March 23, 2016 at the CHI Health St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska, at the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 21 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister.
Tom is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy Chambers of Sidney, IA; children, Raydon (Virginia) Monk of Grand Saline, TX, Naomi (Kenneth) Escritt of Carson, IA, Dessie (Brad) Schroeder of Ankeny, IA, Tonya (DJ) Buckner of San Angelo, TX and Thomas Jr. (Amy) Chambers of Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren, 19 great children and a host of many friends.
