"Very sorry to hear about Yvonne's passing. Just reminiscing about the trip to Tierra del Fuego she took us on in 1997. One of the best memories in my life. Cindy Mitchell "
Katherine Yvonne Gilmore (Yvonne) Age 63, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Yvonne was born March 29, 1952, in Hixson, Tennessee. She was raised by George and Bonnie Whiteman in Kent, Washington. She married Brian Gilmore on August 19, 2000. Into every family falls sorrow when a dearly loved mother and grandmother leaves this world. They may be gone but they are never forgotten--they are loved forever. Yvonne will forever be in the hearts of her husband, Brian Gilmore; her children, Jennifer Faith (Duncan) Brantley of Puyallup, WA, and Derrick Daniel Carlson of Federal Way, WA; her brother, William Whiteman; her sister, Pam Swenson; her many grandchildren and Presley "My Boy Dog".
Yvonne touched so many lives with her generosity and compassion. She truly made an impact in the world. Yvonne would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, painting and reading to her heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her husband and children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed.
We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends, but also, colleagues and clients, many of whom over time also became close friends. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many. We invite you to join us and celebrate together.
Celebration of life Friday, April 8, 2010, at 2:00 pm. at The Cove, Normandy Park, WA. Please sign Yvonne's guest book above under the "Tributes" tab.

"Extremely sad to hear. Yvonne (mom) was a huge support to me growing up with Derrick as my best friend. You always new wear she stood and the more she loved you the more honesty you got. She would defend the ones she loved and what she stood for with extreme prejudice and unlimited vigor. She was so unique and refreshing. I love ya and know your in a better place. Much love and support to Derrick and family. Love you bro. So sorry. "
"My sweet friend"

"Yvonne my dear friend - I am so incredibly sad that you left us, it was way too soon. What a beautiful picture and what a beautiful person and friend you were. I am so sorry that you suffered as you did, but now, I believe you are in heaven and your suffering is over. I'll miss your laugh and your smile and sense of humor. I can't make it to your service, I will be in California. I am going to go to the beach and think about you and what a great person you were and are and will miss you. My sincere condolences to Brian, Jennifer and Derrick, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you. Polly Kimmel"
"Sending love hugs and condolences!"
"Yvonne and I were colleagues at Plum Creek Timber Company many years ago. I remember her as a very dedicated employee-among the first in and last out of the office each day. She took great pride in her work, but it was always clear that her priority was family, especially daughter and son and at that time one grandson. She was passionate about causes she believed in and a defender of those she believed to be mistreated. Whether you agreed or not, you always knew where she stood. She had a great sense of humor - her infectious laugh could be heard far down the office corridors. She was a very unique individual - as proclaimed by her license plate: 1UVAKND Dave "
"May fond memories comfort all family and friends."
"I am so saddened by the loss of Yvonne. My heart aches for my friend Derrick and the whole family, as I know what kind of mother she was and the love she gave her family. Remember the good times and her smile, she was a kind person to all that she came in contact with. Prayers to your family Derrick!!! Love Darin, Joslin and Griffin Garman. "
"I have so many fond memories of Yvonne and am so sad to hear of her passing, but I know heaven has received a very special angel. Yvonne and I were great friends back in the day. We became mothers together and just trying to figure out how all this worked was a special time. I remember all the late night get together playing Tripolie and getting shit faced and laughing so much, before our babies came, Jackie, Yvonne and myself had some great times together. Her laughter was contagious and those eyes could see through you. And her lips just made her smile gleam. She was such a great lady. Sad that life things happened and we all lost touch. But I have thought of her many times through the years. To the family I am so sorry for your loss, Jenny you most likely don't even remember me, you were so small when I last saw you, but I know how much she loved you. She was just a eon derail lady. God Bless you all."
"My thoughts go out to Brian and your family in their time of such a great lose. May you rest well. Peace be with you. "
