Richard Parilek
June 13, 1937 - April 5, 2016

Richard Anthony Parilek, of Antigo, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at his home. He was 78 years old. He was born on June 13, 1937 in Antigo, a son of the late James and Blanche (Soulek) Parilek. He married Dorothy Bostwick on April 11, 1959 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives.

He attended St. Hyacinth Catholic School and was in the first graduating 8th grade class from St. Mary's Catholic School. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1956.

Mr. Parilek took over his father's dairy farm in 1959 and farmed until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Associated Milk Producers Inc., Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Agricultural Soil Conservation Service, Holstein Friesian, and was a Voting Delegate for Farm Bureau of Wisconsin.

He was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, the Monsignor Conrad Saile Council 1002 Knights of Columbus, Antigo Co-op Oil Association and Bryant Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. He was PTO president for Spring Valley Elementary School for four years and was a Future Farmers of America Alumni.

Mr. Parilek enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, telling stories, riding in his golf cart and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to cook, having cooked for many family weddings and other large functions.

In addition to his wife, survivors include six daughters, Deborah (Clarence "Harry") VanVonderen, of Antigo, Donna (Jerome) Remington of Antigo, Denise (Paul) Meister of Bryant, Diane (Michael) Preboski of Antigo, Dorothy (John) Rustick of Antigo, Dawn (Andrew) Moczynski of Bryant; three sons, Richard (Kathryn) Parilek Jr. of Antigo, Robert (Pamela) Parilek of Antigo and Randy Parilek of Bryant; 16 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Delores Parilek of Green Bay and Patricia Kreger of Park Falls; and a brother-in-law, Raymond (Grace) Bostwick of Lily.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Parilek, Jr.; three sisters, Mary Spychalla, Rose Schmidt and Eleanor Steinke.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
