William "Bill" Mazer died Thursday, June 30, while working in South Florida. Bill was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, the third child of Stelene and John Mazer, Sr. He attended Grosse Pointe Schools and then earned undergraduate and post-graduate degrees through study at Western Michigan University, the University of Detroit and Wayne State University.
He is survived by his children Zachary and Malia of Colorado; his sister, Juliet Mazer- Schmidt and husband Ken of Grosse Pointe Farms; nephew Kenny Mazer-Schmidt of Oregon and niece Juliet Mazer-Schmidt, Jr. of Chicago; sister-in-law Marianne Mazer, widow of John Mazer, Jr.; former wife Renee Boulet Mazer and scores of friends and colleagues.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church on Saturday, August 6, at 11:00 am. Guests are invited to join the family for conversation after the service.
