Philip R Martiny
August 9, 1944 - July 21, 2016

Philip R Martiny, of Antigo, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 71 years old. He was born on August 9, 1944 in Antigo, a son of Ervin and Alvina (Benishek) Martiny. He married Nell Larzelere in Milwaukee. She survives.

He graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1963.

He served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1963 - 1967.

Following military service Phil worked at Amron in Antigo for several years.

For 24 years he worked for the Unified School District of Antigo as custodian. He retired as custodian at Crestwood Elementry School.

He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a member of the National Rifle Association and Gun Owners of America.

Survivors including his wife are a daughter, Jil (Karl) Schulz of Antigo; two sons, James (Tracey) Martiny of Eagle River, Alaska, William (Jessica) Martiny of Bryant; eight grandchildren Hannah, Karleemae and Eden Schulz, Mackenzie, Mitchell and Wyatt Martiny, Isaac and Gracie Martiny; a sister, Jean Martiny of Dallas, Texas; a brother-in-law, Ron Dimond of Portage; a sister-in-law Katie Martiny.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Ellen Herpe, Doris Pamperin, Margaret Lieserfelder, Mary Jo Martiny, and Gail Dimond; two brothers Richard and Jim Martiny.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 25, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Dorsch, officiating. Burial will take place in Bent Cemetery where Antigo veterans will conduct military rites.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
