Robert William "Bob" Reichardt
April 13, 1926 - August 12, 2016

Robert W. "Bob" Reichardt age 90, of Story City formerly of Ames, died at Bethany Manor in Story City on August 12, 2016. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Bob was born April 13, 1926 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Charles and Ida Reichardt. He joined the US Navy in April 1944 and was honorable discharged in June of 1946. He then returned and graduated from Ames High School and attended Iowa State University before going into the carpentry business with his father. In 1965 he went to work for the Ames Public School System as a carpenter working up to the Building and Grounds Director, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose# 520 of Ames, where he held several local and state positions, and also American Legion Post # 37 of Ames.
He is survived by his daughters, Kyla (Ron) Jordan of Cody, WY; Kathy Thompson (Greg) of Story City, IA; Karen Reichardt (Tom Murphy) of Savannah, GA; and Kris Baerenwald (Todd DeSmidt) of Hudson, IA; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a sister Constance Spencer of Visalia, CA.

"Bob was such a wonderful companion for my grandma Lila for so many years. I so enjoyed my visits with grandma & Bob. I learned so much & he was such a caring man. I am sorry that I didn't stay in touch after Lila's passing but thought of Bob often. I miss them both very much. I am so sorry for your loss & you are all in my thoughts & prayers."
