In loving memory of

Claude Raymond Tieken
February 21, 1931 - August 23, 2016

Claude Raymond "Ray" Tieken peacefully left this life surrounded by family at home on August 23rd 2016. He was 85 years old.

Ray was born in 1931 to Theodore Arthur and Kathryn Elizabeth (Scanlon) Tieken in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from the Catholic Academy in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and later served in the Army. He then went to work for the family business, "Ted's Garage", in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He met and married Daisy Ann Peek in 1953 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Together they had five children and were married for 63 years. After the passing of Ray's father, they dissolved the family business, and he moved his family to the Seattle area. He went to work for the Boeing Company. He retired after 33 years.

Ray loved his family, all of the cats and dogs he had during his lifetime. He enjoyed swimming, water-skiing, fishing, bowling, working in the yard, travel, the outdoors, history, geography, cars, and basically being silly. He had a quirky sense of humor and a quick wit that would make a room break out in laughter.

He loved his wife, Daisy more than he could explain and he was very much a family man. He was there to help when he could, and to drop in on a whim. He instilled a strong sense of ethics in all of his children, a pay-it-forward attitude and he always, always appreciated visits from others. He made sure they knew he was happy they dropped by. He will be missed immensely.

He is survived by his wife Daisy, his brother, Tim Tieken (Marti) and his five children, Ted Tieken (Lacey Ryan), Angela Tieken, Claudia Dodel, Jeff Tieken, and James Tieken, grandchildren Krista Kelly, Keegan Williams, Erin Kelly, Cheryl Tieken, great-grandchildren, Ramá½¹n Kelly and Francesca Leon-Kelly.

Ray was immediately in the presence of the Lord and met in Heaven by his mother and father and many other loved ones, including past pets.

If you would like to make a donation in Ray's name, his favorite charity was Catholic Community Services.

Please contact family members or Cascade Memorial in Bellevue for service information.

"I love you Dad. Far more than mere words could ever express. The void in my life without you can and will never be filled... My heart will ache until we are reunited again in Heaven. Thank you for all you have taught me. I am the woman today because of your influence. I can only hope that I make you proud. I love you Dad. Your adoring daughter, Claudia"
