Kristin Lindamood passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 18, 2015, at the age of 45. Kristin is survived by her husband, Eric M. Lindamood; children, Alexander Colley Lindamood, Caroline Jane Lindamood, and Andrew Miller Oren Lindamood; parents, Dennis and Carol Colley of Sammamish; sister Kim Stark of Kirkland; brothers-in-law, Steve Stark of Kirkland and Alex Lindamood of Glen Allen, Virginia; sister-in-law, Lucille Lindamood of Glen Allen, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Lauren Stark and Megan Stark of Kirkland, Washington, Sarah and Michael Lindamood of Glen Allen, Virginia; mother and father-in-law Roy and Jane Lindamood of Roanoke, Virginia; cousin Jennifer Sisson and Cal McAusland of Kirkland; aunt Barbara and Con Korakis of Bothell.
Kristin was born on February 13, 1970 in Seattle. She graduated from Redmond High School in 1988 and Central Washington University in 1993. She followed her passion and began a career in aviation, including as a flight attendant, flight instructor, Grand Canyon tour pilot, and first officer and captain at airlines including Cape Air, Chautauqua, Shuttle America, Atlantic Coast, and Independence. She met her husband in London and they married in 2003 in Riomaggiore, Italy. They lived in Northern Virginia for several years before relocating to Bothell in 2008. Back in the Seattle area, Kristin became actively involved in the PTSA at her childrens' school and volunteered in the classroom. She worked part time for Shea Homes and as a photographer.
After suffering a stroke in 2014, Kristin fought hard and made an amazing recovery. She never complained about the difficulties she faced, but exhibited strength, grace and determination as she worked hard to recover for her family. She found great joy and purpose in helping future stroke survivors by working with the University of Washington Aphasia Lab.
Kristin loved to travel and could often be found planning her family's next road trip or flight. She loved planning and taking numerous family trips with her family, parents, and sister's family, where she was always at the center of the smiles and laughter.
She loved her family more than anything. She was the most amazing and loving wife, best friend and soul mate to her husband, and a loving, caring and super cool mother to her children - how many other moms can fly a plane, make perfect pony tails, wipe away tears, organize everything, and bake the world's best banana bread, all while looking beautiful in pearls? She always put the needs of others above her own and would be the first to respond when a family member, friend, or someone in the community was in need.
She touched many lives in her too short life. A bright light has gone out in the lives of those who knew and loved her, but the love, generosity, compassion, and passion for life she exhibited will warm us and make us smile for the rest of our years. Kristin, your three young children now have the best guardian angel ever. We will miss you forever.
