Walter Beauchamp
July 11, 1931 - October 25, 1999

Walter Beauchamp passed away on Monday, October 25, 1999 in his Seattle home. He was born in Clinton, Louisiana on July 11,1931 to Henry C. and Cornelia Beauchamp. He was one of seven children.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, mother, sisters - Pearl E. Mitchell, Maggie Robinson, and brother -- Jackson Beauchamp, and one son - Robert Mingo Beauchamp. Surviving siblings include one brother Henry Beauchamp of Yakima, and sisters Gladys Armstead of Los Angeles and Jeri Mims of Tacoma, Washington. One daughter, Paulette Beauchamp, sons - Walter Beauchamp, Jr., Henry Leo Beauchamp, and Norman Lee Beauchamp. Son-in-law S. DeWayne Ticeson. Six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, God-daughter, Yvonne Benton and daughter-in-laws Angie, Edita, Nina and Roberta. Plus nieces and nephews, special friends and acquaintances to numerous to mention.

Walter moved to Yakima, Washington at age 16 with his parents and family. He grew up in Yakima and in 1949 he married Minnie Jo McClain and to this union was born their sons and one daughter.

In his earlier years of work he worked for the Hanford Atomic Energy Plant. Later he worked for his Brother-in-law, Alfred Knighten in his Masonry Construction business and also for his sister, Maggie Knighten in her Dry Cleaner business. In 1955 Walter, along with his family, moved to Seattle, where he started his own business, Walt's Auto Renovating, Auto Body and Technicians shop located in the North end of Seattle.

He was an active member of the Union Lodge #43 F. & A.M. Since 1963, he was a Past Master and Treasurer of Lodge and a Kavasis club member. Walter was a member of the Curry Temple CME Methodist Church and on October 17, 1999 he reaffirmed his faith in Christ; eight days before the Lord called him home to glory.

He will surely be missed down here by family and friends. He left a legacy of a caring spirit and love for others, his family as well as his friends.

We know that he made peace with his God and by the promises of God's own word, he is now in that place where there is no more sickness, sorrow, or crying; the place where we can see our loved ones again. So let us rejoice and weep not....because we shall meet again.
