Lavon M. Johnson, 81, of Allison, Iowa, passed away February 22, 2010, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa. She was born on March 28, 1928, in Dumont, Iowa, to Fred and Alice (Drisco) Day. Lavon graduated from Dumont High School. She was united in marriage to George Johnson Jr. on July 8, 1951, in Dumont. Lavon worked at the Allison Care Center for many years. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. Lavon enjoyed working and cooking. She is survived by her sons Stanley (Portia) Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona, Dennis Johnson of Allison and Russell (Diane) Johnson of Britt, sister Wilma McKinney of Aredale, grandchildren Phillip (April) Johnson, Jessica (Matthew) Doden and Jonathan Juhl and great grandchildren Breanna Johnson, Hunter Johnson and Harper Doden. Lavon was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter Gloria and six brothers and sisters.
Burial will take place at the Allison Cemetery in Allison, Iowa
