"While I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mary, my husband, Andre Renna, did when he lived next door to Mary and Pete for two years in Waterloo, Iowa. After my husband's (son and ex-wife's) departure for Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Mary continued to send Christmas cards every year . With each of those Christmas cards over the past twenty years that Andre and I are married, I feel I got to kmow what a lovely lady Mary was. Rest in Peace, Mary ??'?"

"I met Mary shortly after she moved to Hansell. We became fast friends because we both enjoyed reading. Her apartment was like a small library because of how many books she had. She introduced me to 2 books that are my favorites still today. Even though our lives went in different directions, we continued to see each other periodically to go book shopping at her favorite used book store in Rochester, MN. Here is a picture from one of our shopping trips... RIP in the arms of your savior Jesus, Mary-Deb Tangeman"

"Mary was truly a book reader. She would stop by many times and share the good Christian books she had read. I enjoyed her sharing with me as she read so many more than I had time to read and always knew the ones that were new. She was a great help to me as I was the owner of the Christian book store in Hampton and I didn't have the time to read that she did. I felt I could order with confidence with her recommendations. She was a special lady and I will miss her."

"Mary lived with us for a time when I was a child, she would play games with us & tease us , make us do dishes & chores. She would put her hand in the dish water then flick it at us & make us laugh, she also would teach us to blow bubbles with dish soap. She made great shadow puppets with her hands.. took our teasing with a easy attitude . Mary, I will miss you ,may you rest in peace in the caring arms of our Lord with love always...Tess "
