Dorothy "Marcie" Reps, 82 of Lewiston, passed away at Lake Winona Manor under hospice care.
Marcie was born September 5, 1934 at home in Winona County to Arthur & Hazel (McElmury) Ladewig. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1952. Marcie met the love of her life, Edwin Reps, at the Wyattville Ballroom and they were married November 6, 1953 in Lewiston. She was a member of St. Pauls UCC and ELCA in Lewiston.
Marcie and Ed farmed in the Fremont and Wyattville area for 30 years, moving to Lewiston in 1983. She worked as Ed's secretary for 9 years for the Renk Seed Co. until he passed away on September 29, 1988. She then worked at the Lewiston Sales Barn at the lunch counter until retiring. Marcie was known for her wonderful baking and cooking skills. She enjoyed celebrating her Irish heritage, gardening, dancing, and traveling; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and competitive spirit. She will be deeply missed.
Marcie is survived by her daughter, Diane (Dan) Rinn of Lewiston; two granddaughters, Tara (Curt) Mundt of Utica and Lisa (Josh) Shofner of Zumbrota; great-grandchildren, Madison, Cole, Georgia, Gracelyn, Emma and McKenna; sister, Beverly (Richard) Reps; two brothers, Earl (Joan) Ladewig and Roger (Diane) Ladewig; sisters-in-law, Fern Kieffer, Elizabeth Reps and Lillian Reps; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert McElmury and in-laws, Paul Sr. & Barbara Reps, Harold & Julia Reps, Leon Kieffer, Robert Reps, Elmer Reps, Paul Jr. & Jeanette Reps, and Douglas & Darlene Reps.
A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles, led by Funeral Celebrant Jenny Hoff. Visitation will be 9 a.m., until the time of the service. Private family burial will take place at Lewiston Public Cemetery.
